A Parcells situation won’t be coming for about 15 more years. I don’t think the stadium will be outdated or in need of replacement like Texas Stadium was, but the initial seat licenses will be expiring then. Me thinks he’ll have a hard time selling the renewals then absent changes.
Well said.Imagine being placed in a lame duck situation going into this past season.
Then imagine allowing your contract to expire continuing to leave you in professional limbo.
Then imagine your boss saying he wants coaches to agree to an incentive-based deal.
Finally, then you hear your boss may want you back but with even less authority (removing play calling) than you already didn’t have.
So, less authority, less pay, and all of the dysfunction you can handle.
Why would anyone want to come back to that nonsense? And if you do, what does that say about you?
Probably, but then follows Stephen. Stephen certainly has negatives, but I’ve never gotten the sense he has the need to be a “football” guy. Jerry recently said, paraphrasing, he bought the team so he could live a Walter Mitty-esque life as a football guy, from socks to jocks. Also, I wonder how ownership will be structured. Will all of Jerry’s progeny have equal ownership? He should be dead before then.
