I know Spencer practiced twice last week in full pads and then rested one day. He didn't have any setbacks. In all honesty he won't be ready until we omay Seattle IMO.

Pretty sure there is only one padded practice a week now, or roughly that. I think its 16 per season, so maybe there's going to be a week with two while the week of the Thanksgiving game doesn't have one.

The Friday practice was a walk-through for the game.

Spencer is coming off a serious injury and won't have Ware lining up at other DE spot. We should temper expectations.

Ya but he will have improved Carter, Monster Melton, Golden Cock Hayden, Bishop, Coleman, Mincey and big playmaker Rolando, with a sprinkle of tackle machine Hitchens playing

No that was the previous 8 weeks. Last week was with team.
The Cowboys held out defensive end Anthony Spencer on Friday after he had practiced in individual drills on back-to-back days. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett it was just a rest day for Spencer and nothing has popped up as he continues to recover from microfracture surgery on his left knee Oct. 1.

Time has come to activate Sam. J Crawford brings nothing and we have no one that can get to the QB on 3rd down.

I hope Spencer's in decent shape this time around.

I remember seeing him vs. KC last year and dude's off-season regime looked like it consisted of dunkin' donuts and mountain dews.

I would prefer that he at least has some practice snaps before being thrown in a game. I don't want him reinjured again.

Spencer will need to be Full Participation Wed through Friday in order to be active for the game, IMO.

Spencer claims that the injury is fine now, but that he just trying to get into football condition. I'm skeptical about Spencer because the original estimates were that he would play in week 2.

Watching the Rams game, I kept thinking the thing they need the most is an outside pass rusher with some speed. Mincey is doing well as a power type pass rusher, but I think he's playing too many snaps.

Anthony Spencer could return this week
By Todd Archer | September, 22, 2014 | Permalink

He saw his first work in practice last week, taking part in a limited fashion during Wednesday and Thursday sessions. He did not practice Friday, which was part of the plan.

“I went pretty good in practice so just going to go a little bit harder, push it a little more,” Spencer said. “I kind of eased into it this past week but now we’ll see how it feels.”

The Cowboys plan to play Spencer at right defensive end after he played the strong-side the first seven years either as a 3-4 outside linebacker or 4-3 defensive end. Considering his prolonged absence, the Cowboys don’t want to overwork Spencer too quickly.

“I’m anxious because it’s close,” Spencer said, “but at the same time I’m trying to be as patient as possible.”
