So tell me LD and supercows what would you have done while we were were trying to work around the talent drain with free agency and the salary cap being in full swing back in the Quincy days.
Uhhh.....not draft Quincy, nobody put a gun to Jerry's head to make him do that, don't make it sound as if he had no choice but to draft the "Q".

As far as Jones being a better GM goes I am stating this in the context of recent history. Please name me a general manager who has a perfect draft selection history since the advent of free agency and the salary cap.
Of course you are flying off the handle asking for PERFECT. How about just adequate. You seem to have trouble seeing that when Bill came here our drafts improved dramatically even with the blunders he made. I find it sad that Jerry who was a key owner to help develope the salary cap and free agency, manages his team as if he's clueless how to build a competitive team in this era. And when I say competitive I mean winning in the playoffs.

While you are at it kindly enlighten me of how many GMs or owners positioned their team to win 3 Superbowls within the last 15 years besides the Patriots.
This is a typical Jerry defense, and of course Jimmy had absolutely nothing to do with the dynasty, it was ALL Jerry's wheelin' and dealin'.

So where are all the brilliant trades now, but I guess you think the Galloway trade was brilliant!

It is easy to focus on a handful of poor decisions Jones made but have convenient memory lapses about the right decisions that were made by Jones.
Please refresh my memory, besides hiring Jimmy or drafting Larry Allen. Oh and for the record Jimmy deserves a SB ring for that '95 team also.

I don't think Jones has been a stellar GM by any stretch but most certainly he has been improving.
So why are we having this argument? LOL!

He has also been recognized as one of the top GMs and owners in the NFL.
BY WHO??? Matt Millen??? If you don't think he has been a stellar GM, then why would those who know what they're doing recognize him as a top GM, he's good as an owner except the owner needs to fire the GM.

Parcells was a great talent evaluator and most definitely helped build our team talent base. But in his 4 years as Cowboys head coach with unprecedented authority he had a number of serious drafting blunders.
And even with his draft blunders his drafts were still head and shoulders better than any of Jerry's drafts, as I stated above.
