Jerry: "I'm Not Looking at Free Agency to Fill Voids"

So the same game-plan as last summer. We all know how well that worked out for us..

Fish said why believe jerry when he says this ?
Fish indicated it was BS, a lie etc.

We will find out when FA starts.

I am just gonna wait and see what happens.

Not sure why he would do that and annoy the fans that much more. It accomplishes nothing else.

in other words don't get your hopes up...been saying it for a while.

we will sign one FA of note, in second wave of FA and call it a day and claim, hey we are all in.
in the meantime, we will be close to the floor of cap limits....

Yep, it's strange (unless its another grab for attention 'look, ive got CAP Space, if I can find a bargain'). But yes, why, even if he signed: Milton Williams, Stanley and Sweat.....he'd pay a Signing Bonus and Prorate the CAP hits into 2026, 2027.
I wonder if he's showing Parsons that he doesnt need a CAP saving by him signing now.....'ive got enough CAP Space'.....Jerry trying (and failing) to be a football genius. Jerry just pay up.
I know this isn't going to happen, but maybe Jerry did this to sign some big name players either from FA, or through trade. I'm just wondering why the 56m in cap space. For what?

Another thing I find odd is the restructure of Dak's contract. They didn't need to do this. They could have switched out Dak's cap hit this year with his 4th year which was 61m and wouldn't have had to do any restructure. That alone makes no sense.

This is why it’s good when he doesn’t speak. Nearly everything that he says is absurd. The guy is an idiot.
I had more hope that last few days when he chose not to speak then I did in 30 years. Then he opens his mouth and it’s gone

If we have to choose just one, I'd rather it be Lewis. But, who knows.
It’s hard to believe Jourdan Lewis has been with the Dallas Cowboys for eight seasons. The former third-round pick out of Michigan was selected by the Cowboys at No. 92 overall in the 2017 NFL draft. In his rookie season he played alongside players such as Chidobe Auwuzie, Byron Jones, Jeff Heath and Orlando Scandrick in the secondary. He outlasted them all.

During his time in Dallas, Lewis has survived four defensive coordinators (Rod Marinelli, Mike Nolan, Dan Quinn, Mike Zimmer), has signed two free-agent contracts, powered through near countless injuries and did it all with grit and determination.

The 29-year-old is coming off his best season as a pro.

C'mon now, Pro Bowl the previous season. And Lawrence and Parsons were rated the top pair in the NFL, before they were both injured.

The defensive coach met with Lewis for 30 minutes yesterday.

Again if Jerry dont want to spend no money, we as fans need to not spend our money on this team.

Then why clear so much cap space?
Only explanation I have is that it rolls over to next year if they dont use it. They are keeping their options open in case an opportunity falls in their lap, but if they dont use the space it really doesnt hurt anything for the most part. Could be they are looking at trade options too over free agents...Maybe a Cooper Kupp?
