Felix Jones-RB- Cowboys Mar. 23 - 8:46 pm et

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed that the team has given thought to having Felix Jones replace Marion Barber as the starting running back.

Jones did say that there are certain "advantages" to having Barber start, but he made it clear that Jones will get a chance to win the job. ESPN's NFC East blogger Matt Mosley, reading the tea leaves, believes there's a 95 percent chance the Cowboys will install Jones as the starter by Week 1. At the very least, there's going to be an open competition in training camp and preseason action.

It's about time.

Give him at least 12-15 carries a game.

Spread the other 12-15 between Choice and Barber. It really isn't that hard of a concept Jason Garrett.

To be fair, Jones does have to stay healthy. If he had stayed healthy last yr, I'm sure he would have got around 200 carries. Barber hasnt been healthy the past two seasons either.

F. Jones should get 15 to 20 carries, T. Choice should get 8 to 10 and MBIII should get 5 to 7 per game.

Well lets just hope that Barber isnt ruined now.

Everyone was talking about he has to start because of the money when the fact of the matter is... he was more productive in his former role. He had good tough yards and double digit TD's. It was stupid to make him a starter.

When it comes to a talent like Barber its quality, not quantity.

Jerry is saying that he's considering it, not that Felix is automatically the starter.

Reading is critical.

If made, that decision should make a lot of people very happy.

Perhaps some of the Cowboy staff are lurking around the CowboyZone again.

A case of selective reading...but you have to blame the media people to because thier headlines are worse.

The Cowboys are not going to pay Barber all that money for 80-112 touches a year. Sorry to disappoint you.

If they know what's good for them they will.

I would say 10-12 touches a game mostly in 2nd half. Racking up 10-12 TD's a year... its worth it.

Sounds like he wants to draft McCluster..:laugh2:
