"We're a better team than we were five weeks ago," Jones told 105.3 "The Fan" on Tuesday morning. "We have improved the right way. We've done it with repetition, we've done it with young players. We've done it with players that have worked in tot he kind of things the coaches want them to do. We've had a lot of depth that has gotten a lot of reps. We're a better team than we were in that lost against Tampa, period."

Jerry just applied the pressure for Dak to elevate this team whether he intended to do that or not. With the defense playing as well as it has been and the offensive line playing better than expected, all eyes will be on Dak going forward.

Agree with all the above.
Things have been set up nicely for Dak, and he has every reason to succeed.
Hope for everyone's sake he takes advantage of it.

Jerry is right, they are a better team.

The OL playing much better. The WR's not looking as bad as what many thought. Though I wish they can get more YAC. Seems the get tackled pretty quickly.
Running game is improving. I think they are still trying to find the right mix with Zeke and Tony. But Zeke has played hard and looked pretty good the last 2 games. Pollard getting some longer runs in.

Defense will just get better. Need to get more turnovers like last season. Still work on the run defense some.

Game day thread will be interesting for sure. Going to be a lot of back and forth posts about Dak. For and against.
I just don't want Moore to be pass happy. Stick with the run, as that has been proven to be Dak's best friend to help in the passing game.

Yes. The OL hasn’t been a disaster without Tyron. Our rushing game has been solid. Our receiving corps has been somewhat suspect .

We are afterall a bottom tier offense ranked about 26th or 27th. Not sure we can say that is better than expected .

The results are better than we expected. And the defense is better than expected . And we have a better backup QB than expected.

All true with what Jerry said.

Wish he would also say the coaches and front office dropped the ball since there was no excuse why not to play the 1st string Offense all Preseason. It would have helped the team knock off any rust, know who to start or who not to start, plus would have had the Oline and receiving crews rolling better instead of playing as poor as they did Week 1 to start the season.

Anyone looking to attach any credibility to Jethro’s hype is simply attempting to provide ammo to align with their own narrative like they would mediots .

Dak has been the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys for six seasons. He understands pressure. I don't think anybody puts more pressure on him than himself. he will be fine.

While perhaps true, Dak just watched the back-up QB go 4-1 and the owner hope for a QB controversy so the pressure is there indeed.

Prescott played poorly in week 1 as well. Most teams didn’t play their starters in preseason. Not really an excuse .

Tampa is also best defense we played until Egirls. I’m not sure we beat Tampa in any scenario.

Meaning - Prescott better produce better than he did 6 weeks ago because the excuses will be harder to make.
Yea, that’s just more crappola for the trolls to attach to.

We are going to lose some of these games .

Ultimately with a very good defense we no longer can say it’s holding us back. And I think Dak over time can elevate a bottom tier offense .

But we are probably still no more than a Wild Card team. And If we can gain some momentum we could be a tough out.

Jerry invested $160M into signing Dak and just watched Cooper Rush assist the team to a 4-1 record during Dak's injury....and Jerry also encouraged a QB controversy so this isn't about people's Dak narratives but rather the owner himself looking directly at Dak and asking him to show he was worth the contract.

We don't use many routes that are good for YAC. Actually, we run a lot that make it pretty difficult.

The defense is better. I don't see the offense improving much.

But, the cowboys cherry picked this game to roll him back out and he has to win this game. On paper, this is the worst team we have played and possibly the worst team in the NFL. If ever there was a no excuses game, this is it.

As dissapointing as week 1 was this was a rusty team that didn't get a lot of time together in preseason. Sometimes the first week teams just fall flat before finding their way. I hope that was the case for us and the offense can get back on track.

Yes they "cherry picked" his medical clearance for this game.
