Sure...but why would you, in an ideal world, bring him back after 5 weeks to face the Eagles? They could have easily let Cooper Rush have this game and give him one more week to heal and practice. The man hasn't thrown a football in 6 weeks.
It shouldn’t be an easy game . Lions are much better coached now . They’ve lost a couple heart breakers against Egirls and Viqueens.
Yes, officially ranked dead last on defense #32. While being ranked #2 on offense . Quite a contrast. They lead the league in points allowed and are near the bottom in every defensive category.

This is as good of a time as ever, imo.
Dak gains receiving options with Fergusson and Hendershot now in the mix with Schultz, our TE group looks better every week.Agree with all the above.
Things have been set up nicely for Dak, and he has every reason to succeed.
Hope for everyone's sake he takes advantage of it.
Good question. I’d think the bottomline is if he can practice , he can play.Reports are that he could not practice the week of the Eagle game which is why he didn't play. So, this week he is practicing and able to grip a football......... but we don't NEED him against the Lions. Why risk him in a game that Cooper Rush should be able to win? Let him have 2 solid weeks of practice to get his timing back and his thumb stronger.
The OL improvement has been because of reps in getting Peters up to speed with management on snaps, has allowed Farniok and McGovern valuable time. All true with what Jerry said.
Wish he would also say the coaches and front office dropped the ball since there was no excuse why not to play the 1st string Offense all Preseason. It would have helped the team knock off any rust, know who to start or who not to start, plus would have had the Oline and receiving crews rolling better instead of playing as poor as they did Week 1 to start the season.

No games are a guarantee we can win. I’d think this game would provide an excellent opportunity for him to rebound from injury.
Why wait if he’s medically cleared to play? His thumb will get stronger playing.

As it should be."We're a better team than we were five weeks ago," Jones told 105.3 "The Fan" on Tuesday morning. "We have improved the right way. We've done it with repetition, we've done it with young players. We've done it with players that have worked in tot he kind of things the coaches want them to do. We've had a lot of depth that has gotten a lot of reps. We're a better team than we were in that lost against Tampa, period."
Jerry just applied the pressure for Dak to elevate this team whether he intended to do that or not. With the defense playing as well as it has been and the offensive line playing better than expected, all eyes will be on Dak going forward.
The big WR at TCU.One of our biggest needs during the offseason will be a legit number one receiver. Would love to add a big physical Deebo Samuel, AJ, Brown type receiver.
I have to believe if he’s cleared medically then he’s full strength. If not then we have a real story to report. One has to wonder where his confidence is after the Tampa debacle. And that was him at full strength. Why put him on the field if he is not at least that healthy and strong, if you don't have to? A less than full strength Dak certainly doesn't give us a better chance to win.

Doubt it. It hasn’t effected revenue. That’s the only measurement that interest them .Wonder if teams will reconsider punting on the preseason entirely after the nearly league wide poor play early on.
The Egirls first round pick at DT sure put on a show Sunday night. What a force he is.Really Jerry? You're finally going to get some topnotch DT's? Because that's what putting a better team around Dak consists of. W/o that, whatever else you do won't matter.
