I looked at the schedule, saw all the good teams we were playing, and am smart enough to know that our $60m man doesnt beat good teams.

Even with the team we had last year, we are still 3-7.

"We won one game my first year," Jones said after the Cowboys' 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans on Monday night that dropped Dallas to 3-7 on the season. "One. And so have we had rough seasons? Yes. Yeah, I've been around. Certainly we have. And we've had other tough years. And this one, we didn't anticipate the record. And the way we're playing right now, we wouldn't have anticipated that. But, not, this isn't -- y'all have heard me tell these old stories until you're sick -- but not, you stay in this league long enough, you'll have times like this."

Do more with less he told the team coaches, and us, so he knew it was a lesser team and good chance it would not do very good.
This is a planned tank, imo, if so he is really lying.

This roster is bad. It was the perfect season to start a rebuild, but it makes no sense to sign Dak to the highest contract in the NFL on a rebuild. That contract was a colossal waist.

yeah makes no sense if jerry planned to tank this year.

Last year, 2023, you could not stop the run and could not run the ball to win. You did nothing to improve these fundamental football needs to win in 2024. In 2019 you entered the season with a lame duck coach went 8-8 and did not make the playoffs. This year you entered in with a lame duck coach. After every winning season with Jason Garrett the next year the team did not make the playoffs. Your team went 5-11 3 years in a row. Finally 16 of the last 28 years your team either has a losing record or did not make the playoffs. But, you did not see this coming?

Where has Jerry Dumbo GM Jones been the last 30 years to not see this coming.

That underqualified little snake in the Grass would make sure his buds on the team would win at least 3 more games.

Anyone who thought this team was going to be competitive after losing 8 starting players and replacing them with rookies and the dregs of FA was lying to themselves.

This was the PERFECT season to start a rebuild and bring in a new HC in 2025 and let him pick his QB with a high draft pick.

But. Here we are.

The dregs of FA is all they do. This is not a rebuild then you don’t make your QB the highest paid player on opening day. Just an absolutely ridiculous move from a clueless front office.
