Jerry Jones is the Anchor

I used to come here daily and discuss things. I just cant put myself through it anymore. No matter the thread topic, give it 5 or 6 responses and here it comes. Jerry sucks, 30 years, fire the gm, makes too much money, tickets and food are way overpriced, cheerleaders are getting fat(well, im exaggerating on that...lol) our draft picks have been trash, they overpay their players, Jerry is too loyal, that player sucks, cut him.... just the same toxic crap daily.

I now read a threads topic, normally looking for any player signings and quietly close the door s I leave, after having talked with nobody....... thus is the new way of business.
:hammer:

The is a double edge question actually.

I am all out, as I want a change.
But until that happens, he is our QB so all in to root for him as the team goes. I will not root for failure to see a change.
As we know Jerry will not allow that. We know we are stuck with him for a few more years. Until his next injury each year.

But if I must to answer in or out. I am out. But not going to hate on the player. I just want a change for the better, like most do.

I was actually getting tired of Romo as well. I was starting to want a change back then. I think he should have got his job back though.
Embrace the hate, Jazz.

I can understand the bad record prediction this year. They have not improved the roster. And a very good argument it may be worse than last year.
Even with all the injuries last year. Some of those injured players, like DLaw are gone. And has not been replaced that we know of.

I do not expect a playoff caliber type team. We need to see it on the field. But until a certain situation is fixed, it may be 2 or 3 years.
Actually he has how can you not assume Fowler easily takes over that role with the help of Neil and and the fact that Sam Williams is returning I'd say that's pretty good depth along with that X first rounder from New Orleans just to name a few I mean I don't wanna keep going here but Fowler is the answer the man had 10 1/2 sacks last year versus the man that didn't play so how is he not replaced we're getting a guy that will play and another guy back that also will play versus the guy that didn't play.. Why do people say things like that I don't get it they absolutely replaced him maybe before the Fowler signing you could say that it was up in the air because we don't know how Sam Williams is going to come off the injury but we will be better off than last year if we don't have as many injuries they will all be back eventually...

I'm not predicting worse because I can see us winning seven games that injured that beat up lame duck coaching staff all the above has been changed they have brought in a different coaching staff with a different philosophy on both sides of the football they have done more at least being more active this offseason then we have in about the last two off-seasons combined they may not be the players you think are good but they are bringing in players that are replacing other players.

Pre-draft positions of lost key players,

rico and zeke were replaced SO FAR with sanders and Williams.

Tank is being replaced by fowler+ Sams back game 1 ie bonus plus Turners in the rotation maybe hes Lawson replacement

Golston replaced by Thomas

Kendrick replaced by Sanborn, Murray added for help until Overshown gets back.

Lance and Rush replaced with Grier and Milton

Edoga-so far not sure but Shepley could be that guy, but time left to get this shored up. Needs addressing

Brandin cooks- Not sure but hes was gone half the season but Cambell hmmm?

Lewis -100% no true replacement yet , Elam isn't him ..huge ?

Martin-replaced by HOFF already last year but backup Jones takes Hoffmans depth piece for swing RG as Bass is still here..

So here we are with the draft still to come and free agency still in play,

the only thing I see is true holes that haven't been addressed at all; would be corner and a backup left tackle or we can call a swing tackle and a possible Wr2, and dynamic young RB, although we might have the guys on the team to rotate in there but it's going to be addressed

I don't see where the rest of this you talking about you could predict four wins, we won seven games limping most of the year with a practice squad. I mean everything has been addressed except for that and again draft is coming and there's free agents still left and trades that can be made but I can predict right now just making assumptions that we can win 10 games if we remain healthy our core part of our team is pretty good that is the reason we won seven games last year with mostly backups...

i can't sit here with a straight face and predict less than seven wins, we are not going to be worse UNLESS we have another catastrophic loss in injuries across the board it was ridiculous last year we lost some of our positions like all three levels like starter backup and the backups back up and we still won seven games...

This article basically summarizes how most of us feel but also provides an outside perspective on what is wrong with the Dallas Cowboys. What pops into my head when I read about Jerry's negotiating tactics is just how detached he is from the world around him. Everyone sees that Jerry is hurting himself by delaying these deals but he does it anyway. It's his money and he can spend it as he pleases but overpaying players hurts the entire team and the fanbase has to suffer the lost seasons. The reality is, his tactics have never worked. He is delusional.

The one thing I disagree with is how long we will continue to deal with this. I think Jerry will be out of the picture in 2 or 3 years. It would be a shame if he continued in his role longer than that, but he is already slipping and father time is undefeated.

It really doesn't matter how great your scouts are if you don't draft the players that they feel strong about. That is where Jerry and his sons come in, they should be treated like a terminal cancer and given so much radiation that their heads and bodies EXPLODE!

I stopped immediately as I know it was another Jerry bashing thread

They replace tank with Fowler Fowler is typically more available do you realize that tank hasn't had a 10 sack season since 2018 he hasn't had more than six sacks since 2020 you're telling me that can't be replaced and I get it tank brought more to the team but his availability also was a problem and we're also getting Sam Williams back to go along with Turner and kneeland... That has been addressed absolutely probably better off than where we were last year at pass rush with plenty of time to go to improve with the draft and everything else..

since 2019 folwer has 40 sacks Tank 27 . you realize fowler's been more of a part time player a rotational guy anytime he's been given heavier snaps he has a lot more sacks.. So I'd say we have that covered I don't see where you think that's a big red flag...

If he is the anchor then please tie him to his yacht and throw him overboard.

Which parts of that aren’t true?

It surprising that some of you still expect a “Jerry is great” type sentiment given the results, and the stubborn refusal to change in any way.

As I’ve said directly to you in the past, I respect how you choose to view things, but maybe try to understand that not everyone sees it that way. The option to block anyone who doesn’t see things as you do is absolutely there at all times.

Who said I wanted Jerry are great threads. But how many different threads do we need on Jerry sucking? How many threads do we need on your gloom?

I remember before the 2014 season everyone speaking the same gloom. After the seasoning opening loss to the niners I remember seeing a segment on ESPN where one of those great panelists actually said this may be the worst team in th eentire league.... and we went 12-4. So you will have to excuse me if i do not need to see a dozen threads a day from all the experts on here talking about how everything sucks.

It is draining.

And yes, i could block user after user if I chose... pretty soon the place would be baron.

on the flip side, you also know where I stand, so no need for you to reiterate your position to me over and over.... yes?

Anchor that's dragging the ship down
But but but...

Big boat lifts the small boat

Isn't that what Jerry has done for the NFL by sacrificing the Cowboys to sports media?

He made other owners richer with his ideas. Made players richer by increasing revenue and the cap. Made himself richer with hanging at the rim and purposeful early playoff exits.

It's about money. Not trophies.

internet is toxic in general. Our favorite team forum is not immune unfortunately

Sure, but as the almighty Jim Rockford once said…”if fifty people tell you you’re drunk, just lay on the floor.”

Not the best analogy but I prefer to work in a nice James Garner reference whenever possible. :)

To each his own I say, and also that everyone needs to get their “Jerry sucks” frustration out somewhere. It’s appropriate here. Simply reading someone else’s doesn’t always fill that need.

Like many fans constantly predict a 3 win season, over and over again. Even after 3 straight 12 win seasons. Because when the team loses they can thump their chest to say they were right. All to feel good because they lost.

Who has called out the refs before games. I see 80% make in game comments about very questionable calls. But some ALWAYS take up for the refs. And if the call was proven to be correct, they admit it. Again the truth. Which you and other deny.
It doesn’t matter if they win 17 games in the regular season. A lot know the end result before the season starts. I wonder if we have any lottery winners on this board?

Jerry will live to be 110 while maintaining his title as GM.

He will outlive his children. He will outlive the majority of us.

It will be the one thing he is really great at.
