We absolutely need another QB.
Kitna is 37 years old and while I like him as a backup, we will..at the very least...need a backup for him.
Secondly, we can say what we want about Romo, but he was very careless with the ball last season. I won't go into his practice habits or leadership skills or whatever, at the very least the facts are he was careless with protecting the ball last season and if it continues, they need to start looking elsewhere. I'd rather take a QB in the 4th round now, develop him and hopefully get him ready in 3-4 years and at least provide Romo with some competition in hopes that it motivates him to protect the ball better.
Lastly, I like the old Ron Wolf philosophy of consistently drafting a QB. You draft a QB in the 4-6 rounds, develop him and then you have a very nice luxury because now you have a possible quality backup and a lot of times the backups that are pretty good are thought to be great and since this is a QB driven league, some team may trade for him and give up way too much (see Matt Cassel). The Packers were able to do this and make out like bandits in the process doing so.
So far, I like this draft (we still need a backup center and a safety).
