If I were Jones, if it's allowed. I would wrap up Cooper Rush now or the Cowboys are going to lose him in the offseason. Being he signed a contract for a 1 year deal in the offseason, it might not be allowed by league rules.

If I am Cooper Rush I am keeping my options open. He has put out good tape and been impressive in his extended action. He has proven he is a starting- caliber QB who can play well within a system. I think he will get some interest from other teams.

Yeah, this.

Can't see any agent at this point advising a client who's had the success CR has had to consider letting himself be locked into a #2 QB salary... got to let it play out. And let's face it, once your QB is making what Dak's making, it gets tough to justify much more salary allocation to one position, even if it is QB.

Well.....I wouldn't cut him again.

Was a pretty dumb move to begin with.......

Broaddus said that his magnificent 7 guys told him he could fetch a 4th now easy.

I’d trade him for a 3rd - let’s face it rush playing as good as he can. Ain’t that good. Managing the game well

Yup, I have no doubt that that's true. Other teams will be willing to make good offers. Jerry and Stephen, maybe not so much.

I trust Cooper over Dak, but let's see how he holds up against the Rams before we crown him. We beat the Rams, I'll personally crown him.

I don't think the league-wide feeding frenzy over Cooper Rush will be what you think.

He's doing exactly what is being asked of him, and doing it well. But he's never had to carry the team. He's never faced a large deficit. He's been blessed with good defense and, to his credit, hasn't screwed it up. But seeing people compare him to Tom Brady here is a bit over the top. He's a long way from validating such comparisons.

Stats against NFC least are worth half.

Has there ever been a quarterback in NFL history that was extended based on 3 games???

I agree in the overreaction side, but on the getting paid side, have we not seen many less impressive backup QBs get big bucks with another team?

Not 100% sure this happens with Rush, but I wouldn't be surprised if a team with no real option at QB but a really good defense to throw money at Rush.

Speaking of Brady, I could imagine the Bucs signing Rush if Brady FINALLY retires. I doubt they will pick high enough to get a Top QB in the draft, and they have the team to almost plug anyone who doesn't throw 30 Ints a year to be successful. Rush might just fit there.

Hell, maybe Dallas jettisons Dak for Rush if they can make the cap work. Seems unlikely, but Jerry still runs the team and just might throw a Hail Mary in an attempt to win one more at his age.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Jerry isn't winning one more with Cooper Rush. I'm enjoying the recent wins, but let's not kid ourselves. The next SB winning QB for the Cowboys is not on the roster.

He's a back up, great story, but it's not like he's gonna make a killing.
