He is really going to make Jason earn it. Per NFLN this morning.

Jerry referred to it being team policy and having no desire to deviate.

It's just logical to handle it this way. Keeping the team's eyes on the target is essential for focus to be maintained.

That would be the intelligent move. Never hand out long term deals when feeling euphoric.

I don't get this. Jerry said it's company policy to wait. And I hope you think that Red has earned it already because he is coming back.

I agree with Big Dog, I think Jerry has already decided to renew Garrett but is certainly not going to make it public at this time. It would take a total collapse for him to change his mind. But with this team progressing as the season goes along and some players coming back later in the season, I don't think that will happen, unless Romo gets hurt and then all bets are off.

And guess what? He can't live without JG because the alternative would be either to give up more control or get another Garrett. He is NOT going to give up control.

I think you nailed that. I think Oppie will be back no matter what happens. Jerry has too much ego wrapped up in this to see clearly.

RW trade? Marion Barber contract? Twenty years of mediocrity?

yeah, facts get in the way of perception sometimes. Mediocrity does not cut it in Dallas----I will give him his credit he desperately wants on getting Martin over Manziel, but QB will need to be addressed asap. Dez and Murray decisons also coming down the pike.

I gotta hand it to him, Jerry is really starting to seem a bit more restrained and slightly competent.

are you serious..... are you sure you are talking about Jerry Jones the Owner and GM of the Cowboys..... I agree a little.. he does show he can be capable at certain times...but then loses it all with a bone head comment or decision...
