How many available, capable head coaches would be eager to jump into working for Jerry and his undermining and having Dak as your QB?

If it were me on the way up, I’d be like…nah I’ll wait.

So we are stuck with another desperate retread at best, more likely Quinn and whoever he can find at OC. Probably a better proposition than whoever Jerry and Son can find as a HC at the next sleepover.

The moment he steps in Florida I will call the authorities to Baker Act him.

His responses to these questions are open and shut evidence he has a mental illness.

Poor Jerry: The 2nd biggest mistake in his GM career and he has to smile and play nice to the cameras.
Must drive him nuts in his private moments........ :muttley:

Jerry is the mouthpiece of the Dallas Cowboys. If he would simply reply that “Dak is the current quarterback and will remain so this season”, it would be sufficient .

It’s when he says this over the top drivel ,that absolutely nobody is buying , is where the train comes off the rails. He makes the organization look like complete fools that can’t evaluate the situation on the ground.

All the attributes that he listed are exactly what Prescott have been failing at and the entire sports world has said as much.

Doesn't sound like Jerry is souring on Dak at all.
He never sounds like he’s souring on anyone. We’ll find out how he feels about him after the season. If he doesn’t extend him he’ll have to pay him almost $60 million next season. If he does extend him he’ll be stuck with him for another few years. He’s going to have to make a tough decision after this season if Dak’s play and the teams play continue to be up and down.

Interviews with owners and current players are bereft of substance and a waste of time. You’re going to get the corporate answer no matter what. At the end of the disastrous 2004 campaign, Jerry Jones expressed his devotion to Vinny Testaverde and belief he would be the starting QB in 2005. Then, Jerry went out and traded for Bledsoe. If Jerry were uber confident in Dak, Trey Lance wouldn’t be here. Trey Lance was never about this year. He’s about Jerry’s unshakeable and growing inkling that giving Dak another contract is not a good idea.

Jerry is a salesman. It’s what he knows how to do. BUT…
  • He does not know how to construct a top to bottom quality NFL roster aside from most starters.
  • Like a salesman, he builds teams based on “best case scenarios” which great GMs never do.
  • He does not hire HCs based on who gives us the BEST chance to win. I like Big Mac- he’s way better than Garrett. But ask yourself- is Mike McCarthy the best we could at HC? Maybe it is. It may be that great coaches don’t want to work in Jerry’s environment.
  • Jerry thinks like a salesman, NOT an NFL GM. He’s had decades to learn but he’s too arrogant to accept that he’s not very good at this.

Exhibit A as to why we haven’t won in almost 30 years and why we won’t win as long as this jackass still owns the team.

Jerry and Giggles obviously don’t realize that one of the best, most helpful things they could do for their team is to just shut up. They don’t say anything of real value anyway. SJ says stuff like “We’ve found the secret sauce” and “We don’t set the player market” (right before they set the market like they did with Zeke)

Just shutting up would help their team. But they are incapable of that because they are insulated from any real criticism. The radio interviews they both do are total softballs from the flagship station. They stopped taking tough questions years ago…or they just change the subject when asked.

If Jones spoke into a microphone like Bill Belichick speaks at any press conference, people would think he was having a stroke. There is one thing about Belichick, the defacto general manager of the New England Patriots:

He does not talk very much.

A sobering ,humbling season is afoot . Jerry will have to eat his words soon on Dak and MM . Don’t see how this team improves over last year . Making the playoffs will be a decent accomplishment. But if the team is one and done in the playoffs or fails to make them , Jerry Will struggle arguing Dak or MM is working out to the fans .

The best GMs don’t talk very much in public. These 3 have been in the last two SBs.
  • Eagles GM Howie Roseman doesn’t do a radio show during the season. He will talk during the off-season like the draft, FA period. But during the season he doesn’t talk that much publicly unless it is to explain a trade for example. Occasionally he will do an interview after a playoff win.
  • Chiefs GM Brett Veach will also speak after draft, FA, or also after playoff games. He will do season preview and recaps, but not 2 shows a week like the Jones boys.
  • Rams GM Les Snead is very much like the the other two. No official “radio show” and speaks to the media mostly during the off-season.
Again, the best GMs arent mugging for cameras or microphones.
