Talk about showing your hand. If we walked Choice out there as our starter and pounding the ball at them, mixing in Felix situationally and Barber in short yardage. Then we strolled a healthy Barber out there in the 4th quarter, the Chargers wouldn't know what hit them.

Instead, now they know to plan on seeing him as the finisher.

Good work Jerry. Also, thanks for Joe D letting everyone know that Romo being the holder would open up more fakes. Even though its a given, don't let teams know that we're thinking about it.

You're assuming that Marion is going to play the finisher role. He's gonna be a finisher all right. But he's still going to get his carries and start the game. I'd put money on that. Jerry's not playing for a closer.

Unless Barber is 100% healthy and back to his old running style (which we have not seen all year long) then this really means nothing. Dallas has been unable to establish any kind of running game over the past few weeks. All the stats are based on earlier this year -- since Colombo went down, we have been terrible in the run game. The line is average at best, and Barber seems two steps slow and weak. One guy can tackle Barber today, did not see that last year. Barber is average at best right now.

Barber is definitely off his previous seasons but the Cowboys are a little like Minnesota, without the tendency to fumble the ball [Peterson has 6 lost fumbles on the season, Barber 1]...they are an explosive running team but not a terribly reliable one, as the Cardinals proved, whether it be Garrett and the play-calling, the o-line or the backs...it's just so curious that Dallas always starts hot with the running game but fade toward the end of the season...how much of this is improved defenses of their opponents versus tired offensive linemen is anyone's guess...probably a combination of the two...i know there's not a whole lot of play-action in the Cowboys offense these days...

HC Jerry Jones folks. Unacceptable.

to be fair, I think all Jerry is doing is going to the coaches, asking about the running game, and they already had the conclusion that Barber needs to be less of a feature in this offense, at least at the beginning of games, and told him that

and he's just reporting it to the media

I can't believe our coaches are stupid and stubborn enough to keep going with how they've been going using Barber

Nice rant.

And yes I think it would make a difference in terms to how you run blitz, what personel you use, and how you substitute players late in the game.

I don't like Jerry telegraphing that Barber will return to his role as a finisher, every little bit matters in this game. I don't like tipping my hand, but Jerry absolutely loves to.

you don't like just about anything he does so what's the point here?

just another whine.

i'm sure the coaches are not going OH MY GOD!!! DID YOU HEAR THE NEWS???? and suddenly they now have all night meetings and practices for choice.

get real.

I wasn't able to recap but the most important comments were:

Tony Romo will be the holder against San Diego

Jerry Jones also hinted that Marion Barber is going back to his role as a "Finisher".

everything this board has *****ed about for the past few weeks finally coming in to play...jerry has a 5 month learning curve apparently whn you think about last year too.

Hopefully, JJ DID tell the coaches to relegate MBIII to was he was when he was most effective. Seems to me that is somthing that the COACHES should have done long ago without waiting for the owner to have to tell them (if that is what happened).

Heck JJ isn't the WORST GM in the league either. Remember, HE had to over-rule BP when it came to the Ware pick. BP wanted Spencer at that point and DW wouldn't have lasted until later.

Do you like D-Ware? Most everybody does, and it's because of JJ that he is here....NOT BP.

Having said that, I'm not saying that JJ hasn't made mistakes, but give it a rest already about "We're not going to win the SB with him as the owner...." You've already been proven wrong three times....come up with something new.

Come out with some FACTS instead of conjecture.....:banghead: Just getting sick of the same old song and dance.....

He's not the greatest, but he's not NEARLY the worst or even middle of the road.

I'm more inclined to believe that the only reason MBIII has been playing such a major role despite his rather, pedestrian numbers is because of Jerry Jones

dude is loyal to a fault

Barber is probably the best back when it comes to blitz pickup and knowledge of the offense.

Ah **** it, he's playing cause we paid him.

Jerry Jones also stopped short of criticizing Steve Dennis. He said members of the media in general should just report the news and stop getting involved with the team as if they are actual members of the team..

That's another way of the Jerrathor telling the media:

KNOW YOUR ROLE, JABRONI !!!

Who knows...it may be.

It seems this team is, at times, run more by the value of the contract than anythng else. MBIII got a contract higher than it should have been, IMO. Just not impresed with a "hard" two yard run as opposed to a two yard run right into the back of a lineman.....the result is the same....two yards.
