Jones, who is also team president and general manager, told SiriusXM NFL Radio Thursday that only incidents related to availability can make off-field incidents impactful.

“I’ve never not one time in my career seen off the field and concern about it affect a play or how a player plays,” said Jones. “Now, I’ve seen it impact how we play if it reduces availability to play, his ability to get out there. You could make a case there.”

Maybe when Jimmy or BP was the coach but when Gailey, campo, and the water boy they let coach was here off field stuff was not as compartmentalized.

Guess this will turn into a Jerry hate thread from the theme of the posts already.

Your post makes no sense. Jones conceded that off-field incidents do have an impact when they affect a player's availability.

It doesn't effect the bottom line which is all that matters as an owner

It affects more than availability. It effects their mental frame of mind for preparation in some instances. A guy may not try as hard or take things as serious or use this time to get ready knowing he wont play the first 4 games. He is available now and it doesnt appear thus far he is taking it well. This can lead to being rusty when he does come back or injury from lack of preparation when he does come back.

I read Jerry's remarks and they didn't make any sense. Then I went and drank 7 shots of tequila, read it again and totally understand what he's saying..

Yes - the Nina Shahraven false accusations of Michael Irvin and Erik Williams had no effect on the Cowboys when they played the Panthers.

It affects a more than availability. And it definitely effects the bottom line.
It effects it in a positive way. These news headlines just generate more income for Jerry. When it comes to Jerry there is truly no bad press. The more the Cowboys are in the news the better. Jerry has it all figured out. You can't be an average team for 20 years and have off field issues every season and still be the most valuable franchise in sports without this stuff helping his bottom line. Jerry is a genius and loves the fact that people hate on the Cowboys for these type if things all he sees is $$$$$$ every time a fan or hater complains

Jerry is talking about how it affects his team on the field, not money. The cowboys are making money no matter what. So you could use that mind set for just about any issue that comes up.
