If Jerry has proven anything as owner, it's that he's not bothered by off the field issues.

Jerry is talking about how it affects his team on the field, not money. The cowboys are making money no matter what. So you could use that mind set for just about any issue that comes up.
It does effect the play on the field. I just responded with that because we all know all that matters to Jerry is the bottom line. He truly doesn't care about on the field. He's just gotta try to make it seem like he cares about the in field stuff so the fans keep spending money. And we will. I will. He has me suckered in

I think he does care about winning. I just think he cares about the money FIRST. And if you listen or pay attention to anything he has said in the past...he makes no secret about it. And honestly....players across all sports have become more astute when it comes to the mindset of owners....which is why players care more about their brand/money FIRST. So this is where we are folks. And I am not choosing sides. I am just saying as fans....understand what game is being played...and once you understand that....you can decide how you wish to proceed.

Jones, who is also team president and general manager, told SiriusXM NFL Radio Thursday that only incidents related to availability can make off-field incidents impactful.

“I’ve never not one time in my career seen off the field and concern about it affect a play or how a player plays,” said Jones. “Now, I’ve seen it impact how we play if it reduces availability to play, his ability to get out there. You could make a case there.”

I actually agree with this.

A lot of this is just media drama.

The PR team is probably who suffers more than anyone.

It affects more than availability. It effects their mental frame of mind for preparation in some instances. A guy may not try as hard or take things as serious or use this time to get ready knowing he wont play the first 4 games. He is available now and it doesnt appear thus far he is taking it well. This can lead to being rusty when he does come back or injury from lack of preparation when he does come back.

Who's disputing that?

I think we all, including Jerry, see that impact.

I love Jerry's ever present optimism, but the Cowboys have had the most games missed due to suspension since 2014. It's not helpful. Clean it up.

He says things he doesn't believe.

He cant/won't admit that off the field distractions affect the player, his play and the team.
It's just not who he is.
