If these hosts actually asked difficult questions instead of providing him fuel for his pathological desire for attention, he would be on the radio a lot less.

I don't ever listen to his show (thanks joe for the heads up) but earlier in the week, Mac Engel actually asked him some tough questions. This was more like an infomercial. Don't know if they're always that soft or not -- maybe so. It is the Official Cowboys Station.

You all do realize they review the questions with Jerry upfront as a condition of his making a radio appearance? Jerry hinted to that last week when they asked him a question that wasn't on the script.

Be waiting a long time I know, but, hopefully hell won't freeze over first.

So 8-8 and 9-7 teams in the Super Bowl make the case for adding more playoff teams? Sure Jerry, just take the easy way out to make the playoffs. Let the NFL do the work for you. Why do any of the heavy lifting yourself? Imbecile.

I'm getting to the point now where I hope this team collapses next season to something like 3-13. The mutiny and backlash against this ownership and coach might finally come true and we'll get some real change.

Interessting. So he did not say that Rod will be with us next year also.

The owner or gm cant talk about a player or coach contract whether on your team or being involved going to possibly another team, its against NFL policy, otherwise jerry can get fined by the NFL, goodell, etc..

I did not realize that. Makes him look even more pathetic. Thanks for the info.

He is probably hoping for the compensation that will never come.

I am thinking either 2 things, either rod stays or tampa bay will give compensation like jerry wants, if we do get to swap with tampa bay for 7 overall in 1st round, were in striking distance to maybe move up more, get possible Johnny Football, or the good DE coming out in the draft

Yeah, he sounded like he was shuffling paper and said something to the effect of, "that's a good question and I didn't even ask you guys to ask me that upfront".

I would venture to say that he doesn't always review the scripted questions, but I'm sure he gets the opportunity to veto them. He does sound surprised and unaware sometimes, but probably due to him not reviewing the questions they sent him upfront.

Maybe when it comes to QB, but I don't think this is a good strategy when it comes to the rest of the team because injuries are inevitable and appear to be growing in number year by year for all teams. I'd like to see the use of analytics when it comes to say building a defensive line (and the team as a whole). I would prefer to have a group of 80 percenters ( where 100% represents the best player at a position) that play well as a rotation and can be managed throughout the season & play at a reasonably high level all year because of depth vs having one 100 per center and a maybe a 90 percenter with a bunch of 60 percenters filling the remaining slots. Especially if these two best players are 30 years old & up.

Having players that work well as a group at reasonable contracts keeps everyone hungry and increases the chances of staying healthy throughout the year plus it gives you flexibility because their contracts are not so huge that they can't be cut or replaced or become progress stoppers because their salary demands they must play.

I'm not saying this is an easy task but one a good scouting department should work to achieve.

I just don't believe you can have a small group of players who suck up a huge chunk of the salary cap carry a team filled with guys lacking in talent because that's all they can afford which appears to be what we've seen in Dallas for years.

I wonder if part if Shy Anderson's job duties is doing that as well.

I'm sure these questions are pre-approved by Jerry's staff as a prerequisite for going on the air.

Of course. The tried and true "Wish Upon A Star" plan. Works every time.

Hungry players? You mean have a team where there is not a clear and distinct caste system where the talent is not overcompensated to the point where it sucks the available cap space available to fortify the middle of the roster for depth purposes? Can't have that.
