Jerry Jones tells the media his favorite delicacy dishes he grew up eating

That was my grandpa's favorite part. Of course, he was part of a generation that experienced the Great Depression. They believed in eating every part of the animals they killed. No waste. It's the same generation with women who go to restaurants and dump all the sweetener packages in their purse.
I used to work with some real down home southerners. When we had potluck I asked why you eating parts and not meat. They said they come from historically poorest parts of America, they had to use the whole thing.

:laugh: Oddly enough, I just looked up to see who might be able to refute it if they were of a mind. The ONLY person alive that could would be his sister, but why would she? Jerry has put serious investment into his niece and nephew. I agree Jerry's story stinks....however, before his father owned a couple of grocery stores, he started out with just a fruit stand. However, he at least owned a grocery store by the time Jerry was nine.

Given how cheap Jerry is, he probably learned that from his parents...so it's POSSIBLE his family hunted squirrels for food. Many people do hunt squirrels even if they don't need it.

But Jerry is such a freaking liar that I never believe anything he says.
Grew up in an average small ohio town, we lived along a fairly big river with a big hill down to it and farmland across it. The neighbor hunted squirrel and turtle, particularly snapper. Nasty creatures them snappers. He had one as big as a barrel, bopped it over the head several times with a baseball bat just made it mad. Finally got a .45 on it.
The hillbillies of the town. :laugh:

Not from the south but grew up in the same environment in the Southwest....we had cows, chickens, pigs so grew up on Cow brains and Pig intestines....frog legs, robins....all very good.......you ate what was on the table with no questions. Different time.....

Any hunter probably started with rabbit and squirrels. I like squirrels the best, especially fried. My mom would sometimes cook them in the pressure cooker with vinegar; they came out looking gray and dead like when they went in, but it was awesome BBQ.
On a fishing trip to Canada with my fellow HS football coaches, we stopped in Michigan where they were from and visited some of their family; we had a wonderful fish boil, and I was introduced to BBQ beaver. I've also eaten alligator, but that's not as unusual.

Yep, when you don't know where your next meal is coming from or when it is coming, you treasure every morsel.

So this means Jones heard about Leggett's cimment, and then decided to make it about him....so he told the reporter to ask him about it, so that he could get that out there.

Does this fact make you respect Jones more, or less, or the same?

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on
@1053thefan
when asked if he's ever had raccoon after it was recently mentioned by Panthers WR Xavier Legette: "I've eaten a lot of raccoon. The answer is yes. ... It's not uncommon at all. One of my favorites is squirrel. It's wonderful. We all had our favorite pieces. ... My mom and I would even ask for the brain of the squirrel. Delicious. Seriously."

:oops:

Maybe this explains everything? :muttley:
