Jerry scattershoots about his 2009-2010 lineup:
- Raved about how much Bowen has improved (The knife sliiiidddeee !!!!)
- Spencer has more big-play, around the ball ability than his predecessor. They're counting on Spencer and Spencer knows it. Also some big-play potential from Butler.
- Siavii they needed as an immovable force for when the occasion calls for it. Didn't have a guy like that last year.
- As good at corner, health considered, since Jerry's been with the team.
- Brewster's going to have to reshape his body.
- Hamlin got an average year behind him.
- When Jerry came in, some teams had as many as 20 players on IR. So in the new col. bargaining agreement, they set aside spots 46-53 on a team basically as a place for the short-term injured. So when everybody asks "why not let those eight guys play on Sundays?" ... because then you would need yet another place for the short-term injured.
- Jerry on how you have to protect your recent picks on the 53, they're more attractive to other teams than the more immediately-productive veterans that you have to waive. Saying you have to take a shot on the future of the puppies at the expense of cutting some middle/lower-rung veterans that could help you more now. (Sorry if this goes without saying, just thought I'd throw it in.)
- Bradie James on Butler: He never makes two mistakes in a row. As a veteran you love to teach a guy that tries that hard. (Does he mean, "never makes the same mistake twice" ... Probably.)
- My take: Tony's new squeeze is A-OK. She and Mickey host this show.
- Staff members are using Segways to wheel around the huge distances in and around the stadium.
- Tidbit is an annoying word.
