- When Jerry came in, some teams had as many as 20 players on IR. So in the new col. bargaining agreement, they set aside spots 46-53 on a team basically as a place for the short-term injured. So when everybody asks "why not let those eight guys play on Sundays?" ... because then you would need yet another place for the short-term injured.

I don't see how this makes sense. Allowing all 53 to play doesn't mean you have to play them.

The theory is if team A has no injuries they have an unfair advantage over team B who has several injuries. So then team B might even be forced to put guys on IR that they normally could wait on as an inactive.

I thought the same thing. Jerry tried to answer a question that he didn't have an answer for, and Jerry, unable to say I don't know, came up with this.

Everything about Tony's new friend is what society says it should be. Big blue eyes. Nice white teeth. Small lips. Skinny and broad shoulders.

There's a reason the "health considered" disclaimer was added. Pup and Deion never had a chance to see what their potential might have been. A torn achilles made sure of that.
