The writing hand once having written...moves on. Greg Hardy has...and so should fans.

Agreed. It doesn't take a year to get into football shape.

Guess Scandrick is done for this year.

If a boxer is out of the ring for a year and a half...think it just takes him three months to get back into ring shape?

The burst and explosion he showed vs Néw England never resurfaced on game day. Could be rust or the rumors of him not being in proper condition during the season. If you could assure me the Cowboys would get that version of Greg Hardy we saw vs NE 85-90% of the time, I'd have no reservations about re-signing him.

I don't know about his burst or how you think you can objectively measure that from what's on the telecast but what I saw was a LG that could sit inside and take away that inside move he was so successful with early in the year because Hayden was switched next to him and he lost 98.

It sounds more like Jones is negotiating than writing him off. They've even changed tunes organizationally. Perhaps we should wait and see? It is lying time after all in the NFL.

That's what I'm doing. Because while I admit that there are issues with Hardy, I see even bigger issues without him.

I feel the same way Bobby Carpenter 2.0

I think it's like Speedkilz said, "he's more Greg Ellis than Greg Hardy", and we'll be back to the fond memories of hollering about Bosa's pedestrian 7-8 sacks a year just like we did for Ellis.

Today's media reporting system leaves a ton to be desired in trying to follow the action on the court.

Two things stand out to me on this.

One, it sounds like Jerry is the member of the group who is holding out the most for Hardy's return. At least that's the vibe I'm getting.

And two, if 'rust' is the reason being given, why did Hardy start the season well and his numbers dropped off as the season went along? If 'rust' was the reason, shouldn't that have been the other way around? A slow start followed by an increase in production as he rounded back into shape?

I think it was mental, and the constant media drivel on his DA, and the state of the team, no romo no offense,
no wins.
After the giant game where he got mad on the harris return, he never played as hard after that, and I
really think other players let up too.
The Miami game they played good, but then the next game Romo is throwing more passes to the defense than the offense,
and then he gets hurt, so after that many players realized it was over.

Hardy was also dbl teamed and chipped after the NE game, teams realized he was the main one to stop, so they
put the emphasis on doing that.
Hardy also had no real help from others aside from DL at times.
'And with our offense, the defense was now on the field too long.

Is he worth 11 mil? that I dont know, maybe 8 mil or have it based on production and games played again.

I think people want him gone cause they dont like him, but that isnt the way to pick who stays or goes.

At the right price, he may be one of our best options at this point.

Really only see three options

1. Hardy
2. Williams
3. Ware (if he is released)

I think we can safely answer that question, actually, can't we?

I just try to leave a developmental potential to the equation...sudden enlightenment or insight gained. I prefer not to cut potential to the bone. That's all.

TwoDeepIII and I go back to the true Star War periods at ESPN, prior to Reality actually starting his site, here...

You've now negotiated down Greg Hardy's asking price. So maybe you can get him for 7 or 8 million next year, and you give yourself an out based on behavior.

This saves you from having to put huge resources into the position. Best choice we have to be honest.

Would you also add into the mix, Claiborne, Durant, and Arian Foster on low end contracts?

I would add Durant and Bruce Carter on low end contracts. Claiborne if it is very low. I wouldn't go after Foster though.

I'd like to see Elliott, McFadden, Dunbar.... I think that is a strong corps of running backs.

I really, really hope that Dallas moves on. He knew he needed to work on repairing his image last season and he instead gave stupid interviews, had an on-field incident and was late to meetings. He needs to move on to another team and try again.
