Damn right I am. Have a professional football team as a play thing that I used my in laws money to buy. Everyone here would love that setup. He still sucks as a GM and owner tho.

I despise Jerry, not because of the inaccurate assertions made by nav22, but still give the man his do, he is an incredibly hard worker with a huge tolerance for risk. He made his money in the oil and insurance business and parlayed his profits into purchasing the Cowboys, he was not merely given the money by his family to purchase the Cowboys.

He deserves kudos for accomplishing this from a business standpoint

As far as his involvement with the success of the early 90s Cowboys, he deserves kudos for writing a $1 million check so that Herschel Walker would except the trade terms to Minnesota and hiring Jimmy Johnson to be head coach.

Fortunately for us he was too busy trying to fix the finances of the Dallas Cowboys to screw up the great team Jimmy and other talented staff were building but as soon as the financial ship started to get righted, here comes Jerry screwing things up, starting with not signing Emmett in 93 and eventually being so insecure with the success of the person be hired that he had to run off a back to back, super bowl winning coach.

I give him no credit whatsoever beyond what was mentioned above and writing checks to pay for that staff. He is and always will be an albatross to winning; he's had 23+ years to prove otherwise and never will.

He will never win another super bowl unless the miracle of miracles happens & he decides to remove himself completely from all football related activities, microphones, video cameras, etc. He is an anathema to winning & creates a toxic environment that no team in the salary cap era can overcome, especially one saddled with the America's team label whom every team wants to beat and whose players are immediately crowned champions and paid as such having never won anything while wearing the star.

I'm convinced part of the reason Parcells left is because he got tired of trying to hide the anointing oil from jeri and all his sycophants

I seem to recall this myself, IIRC, jeri wanted to buy a Shakeys franchise but lucky for him (and unlucky for us) he didn't get it. Do you recall where you heard this in detail? Books, etc? I'm personally trying to document as many verifiable facts as possible because sadly the truth gets muddled over time.

I still think jeri deserves credit for not being a stereotypical, lazy, rich kind that merely lived off his families success; he may have been given more opportunity than the average person but he damn sure ran with it and parleyed whatever he was given into huge wealth through an incredible work ethic and tolerance for risk and a lot of luck (no knock on jeri for the luck part, no successful person didnt have a little luck along the way, like the saying goes: "the harder I work, the luckier I get" )
