Jerry, imo, is the best owner in football. For starters, he might not always make the right decisions but he always takes care of our players. Unlike other owners, he never makes the fan base upset with letting one of our own get away. In addition, he goes out and signs free agents that most teams wouldnt even touch like Owens, Hamlin, Zack Thomas etc etc. If these players were Cowboys they would be take care of. Players such as Chad Johnson, Lance Briggs, Roy Williams, Lito Sheppard etc etc would be sitting happy with our team. As for Terry Glenn being our only disgruntle player, I think it will be taken care of. I wouldnt want any other owner in football than Jones. Can anyone disagree with this???? Opinions

He is smart too -- the fact that he takes care of his players gets around the league and players will want to play for him. I often wonder how long the Patriots can short-change players (cough, Asante) and it not have an effect. I guess it doesn't really matter, the Pats are high-profile and as a result, Asante still got paid crazy money, just with another team.

I guess winning does cure all, doesn't it?

He was pretty bad from 1994 to 2003.

He's definitely a player's owner and has improved as a gm in recent years.

Outside of bagging Jimmy, I love Jerry the owner. It's Jerry the GM that makes me nervous.

A few days ago, I think it was Norm hitzges. Said there was a poll amongst the NFL coaches. The best owner in the league. The rule was the coach can not vote for their own owner. I didn't hear the entire list. And can't remember who took the poll.

1. Dan Rooney
2. Pat Bowlan
3. Jerry Jones

Jerry the owner kept Jerry the GM, in spite of a decade of bad decisions.

We haven't won a SB in 13 years.

Overpaying a player like Hamlin hardly makes him the best owner.

Best owner but as a GM he could be better

What can or should he have done this year to make the team better?

Now, long ago, he sucked...but, you have to learn from the beginning, right?

Can you build a house from the ground up without first learning how to use a hammer?

He has been great this year but I'm talking about as a whole he's been ok as a GM.

i disagree...

he went to an NFC title game, won a superbowl, and made two other playoff appearances during that time....

he certainly made some bad decisions, but....

(1) what if Irvin didnt hurt his neck on the Philly turf?
(2) what if Galloway didnt tear up his knee in the opener?
(3) what if Novacek and Haley didnt tear up their backs?
(4) what if Dallas didn't go dwon 21-0 to SF in the first 7 minutes...
(5) what if Q had the discipline to say no to drugs?

Dallas had a string of bad fortune, and they had some bad drafts (I will lay the latter at Jerry's feet), but despite these things, Jerry still was in the top 5 during that time period...

his biggest mistake, I think, was hiring Campo (love Camps as a coordinator) when he should have hired a Parcells type...other than that I can't complain (everyone has a few bad drafts...)

Got it!!

Question?

Who would you rather listen to speak?

Jerra or Emmitt?

:laugh2:

The only thing I dislike about Jerra is his lisp, or stutter, or whatever you call it...those big teefe in the way! And then...he rambles and rambles and rambles on and on and on....!

And Emmitt..."I like being up hea in da boof wit Troy an Moose"...

Bingo! what Jerry is doing is foolish. he is paying players millions who have never even won a playoff game. some of these guys have been in the nfl for years.what happen to the days of winning something first then you get paid? 13 years of nothing is what he's paying for.NOT GOOD!

And it should baffle your mind. it should tell you that Jerry the GM does not know what he's doing. it's his money. but i think paying all this money to players who have not won a playoff game in over a decade is foolish. Jerry the GM is not very good.
