Ronald Martinez/Getty Images While I was reading the report that Jerry Jones decided to retain Wade Phillips, I started thinking, is Jerry Jones putting in all his chips to make a run at the Super Bowl in 2010. OK, to support this theory, if Jones brought in a new coach, the offense would have to learn a new system, and possibly there would be a clean house of players and coaches assistants.
Let's say for argument sake Jerry is making a huge run to reach the Super Bowl in 2010, the payoff for him would be huge. A marquee team verses the Cowboys, (America's Team) in the Super Bowl, that will be in the new Cowboy Stadium, would be a cash cow. Yes Jerry will make his money even if the Cowboys would not make the Super Bowl, because of the Cowboys Stadium. In my opinion, even though, Jones gave Phillips an extension, if the Cowboys do not get it done in 2010 he is gone.
I also I think Dallas will make some major roster moves this off-season, possibly pursuing Brandon Marshall in a possible trade during draft time, dumping Roy Williams (possibly trade or cut) and maybe getting rid of Marion Barber, depending what happens with the LaDainian Tomlinson situation, which he (Jerry) might pursue. At this time, the stakes are high in Dallas and Jerry is looking for a major payout!! What are your thoughts on this?
