3 straight 8-8 win and in seasons, and did not get it done. He should have been fired then. There was only 1 losing season under Garrett.
How many losing seasons did Garrett have?Like all the losing seasons with Garret that did nothing
That hypothetical seems practical until you consider who you believe will uncharacteristically panic. This is an assumption based upon how someone thinks another person will react according to how they themselves would react.Maybe a few losing seasons stacked on top of each other would cause Jerry to do something uncharacteristic out of panic.
Lmao okI don’t have to. I know what happened.
Bill Parcells was hired after three straight 5-11 seasons. That hypothetical seems practical until you consider who you believe will uncharacteristically panic. This is an assumption based upon how someone thinks another person will react according to how they themselves would react.
Any guesses should take into account how Jerry Jones has reacted in response to the many varying scenarios that have confronted him in the past. Losing season followed by losing season followed by losing season has not made him panic before.
It has been a long-held assumption Bill Parcells hiring was part of Jerry Jones' plan to gain community support in building a new stadium. I do believe he has publicly stated as such but do not have an article or video to substantiate my comment right now.Bill Parcells was hired after three straight 5-11 seasons.
Hiring a coach like Parcells isn’t uncharacteristic of control freak Jerry?
Three straight 8-8 seasons with a chance for the playoffs with a win in the last game of the season. It has been a long-held assumption Bill Parcells hiring was part of Jerry Jones' plan to gain community support in building a new stadium. I do believe he has publicly stated as such but do not have an article or video to substantiate my comment right now.
If true, that was not a panic response. That would not have been a reaction to the Campo years, which he helped orchestrate. In that instance, Parcells' hiring would have been a calculated move on Jones' part.
Let's take your assumption a step further. Jones was confronted with three 8-8 seasons after the three straight 5-11 seasons. Why did he not panic and hire a Bill Parcells-type head coach afterwards?
It's almost inconceivable that there isn't a running back on one of the other 31 teams practice squads that isn't better. There has to be a young RB sitting on somebody’s PS that is worth poaching… Deuce is not the answer. Cut him.
Get a guy with some traits and resign Deuce to the PS if you want. Would be shocked if there was a team willing to sign him to their 53.
Perhaps that is a valid conclusion in foresight but not in hindsight. And hiring a new coach--a Hall of Fame caliber head coach--is something that happens after the fact. Not before.Three straight 8-8 seasons with a chance for the playoffs with a win in the last game of the season.
The Cowboys were relevant all the way to the last game of the season those years. Sometimes even having that last game flexed to a primetime spot because of playoff implications.
When you stop being talked about by about Week 12ish is what Jerry doesn’t want.
I've it many times,in retrospect, the worst thing to happen was winning SB 30,that whole "we did it our way baby" line ruined this team, Jerry took it to heart and 30yrs later doing it his way has totally destroyed the team and fanbase and the legacy of the Dallas Cowboys.A losing season is needed badly.
I know some of y’all want to win 12 games just to lose in the wild card game, but a 5 or 6 win season is what’s needed the most in Dallas.
Maybe a few losing seasons stacked on top of each other would cause Jerry to do something uncharacteristic out of panic.
I'm glad we won XXX because I was there in person and it would have sucked to go to Arizona and watch them lose, however you're probably right in what you said. It emboldened Jerry and we've been paying for it ever sinceI've it many times,in retrospect, the worst thing to happen was winning SB 30,that whole "we did it our way baby" line ruined this team, Jerry took it to heart and 30yrs later doing it his way has totally destroyed the team and fanbase and the legacy of the Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan spoke highly of the Cowboys’ running backs, said he doesn’t “necessarily see a change that would involve (Dalvin) Cook this week.”
When asked about potentially adding a running back in the future: “I like what we are with our running backs. We got good depth. We just didn’t get to run them enough Sunday.”
