Jerry likes where we are at RB

LOL again, in 9 years Jerry has gone from we shouldn't pay RBs because we don't see the return on investment and they break down quicker than other positions to then using the 4th pick in the draft on one and then making him the highest paid RB in history a few year later because RB is so important to what they do to now being back to we should spend a lot of resources on the RB position. They kind of did the same thing at WR - signed Bryant to a big deal, that kind of fizzled out so they then went to WR by committee which was an utter disaster to the point they had to pay both in picks and money to get Cooper (and now paying Lamb).

They literally have no freaking idea what they are doing. They are cheap. They have no plan. They have no roster building philosphy. They just acquire players, mostly in the draft, with no rhyme or reason as to why they did it and hope that their hand picked coach can coach them up. That's it.

I guess running fairly well against the best defense in the year last year in week one has long been forgotten.

There was only 1 losing season under Garrett.
And Romo was injured For That season which made it very easy for Jerry to explain away

I think you are correct, the last time we stacked up a lot of terrible seasons, it resulted in Jerry bringing in Parcells to right the ship

But unless he is backed into a corner he will continue to shout from the rooftops that we are close and everything is fine. He will act pissed off if we get shelled on our own field in the Wild Card round but it's just that, an act

A losing season is needed badly.

I know some of y’all want to win 12 games just to lose in the wild card game, but a 5 or 6 win season is what’s needed the most in Dallas.

Maybe a few losing seasons stacked on top of each other would cause Jerry to do something uncharacteristic out of panic.
Not just losing season but complete implosion. Total embarrassment

Exactly.

We need embarrassing losing seasons before Jerry will even think about doing anything different.

I can assure you; Jerry planned it this way. He is still seething from the GB debacle. We ALL know when Jerry gets a grudge on someone, he will not relent. This is all about him and Mike McCarthy. This year is HIM giving them 1 more final chance. Problem is, he gave (the staff) them a rowboat with only 1 oar, instead of 2 and told them OK, go out and row down the river and finish the boat race first or else. Meaning, Jerry is limiting the quality of groceries by which MM can have yet asking for something he knows is a challenge. Thats textbook planning for failure(sabotage). It's doomed from the start and its by design. He has a fairly good idea what's coming. Thats why he seems to accept losing the other day after the Saints curb stomped us. Just listen to Jerry's tone after the game followed by Stevie on the radio seemingly just fine with things. I was aghast listening to SJ interview on the fan. Jerry is wholly complicit. Knowing how Jerry and Stephen think, this is THEM putting the screws onto MM and the players that they feel angst towards. Jerry is a spiteful guy. In his pickled mind, he might actually think MM will somehow learn from this loss. This was about JERRY and the soft cupcake culture, and he will NEVER EVER change. Its about placing blame off him and placing it on MM, period. Look here NOT THERE deal.

At this point I have to think Jerry enjoys trashing his own team, and trolling fans. We could lose 70-0 and he would be praising everyone and bawling about how happy he is to have Zeke back.

Elliott averaged 4 yards per carry in that game. Dowdle averaged 3.2. That's not that good. The run game right now is what everyone feared it would be based on what we did there in the offseason. I'm hoping that after two games of so-so production that they'd at least give Cook a shot, but sounds like Jerry is dug into justifying their position on running backs ... at least for one more game.

And Jerry already stuck it to MM (and all of us, and the 2024 season) when he essentially said MM was just coming back so he wouldn't have to pay dead coach money...before bragging about spending the most of any team.

I don't know whether it's stupidity or ignorance,, why he refuses to acknowledge we have the worst running back stable in the NFL
Anything that makes his decision making look bad won’t ever be confirmed by Jerruh. His decisions for the RB Corp was the best for the Dallas Cowboys.

He brought Bill in because he wanted to have his Stafium built. Once that was in the works he got rid of him. He knew what he needed to do to be successful which was get Bill, then went right back to making it about himself.

I almost forgot it was Tuesday. Time for the typical League wide norm of an Owner/GM radio show days before the HC gets his own spot.

I wonder what the typical League wide norm of an EVP having a radio show will bring us tomorrow.

Poor 105.3 The Fan. By the time they get to speak to the HC on Thursday, there won't be much meat left on the bone for platitudes, clichés, and coach speak. Big Mike should just mail it in like the team/Zimmer and his defense did against the Saints.

Agree for the most part except that if you listen to Jerry, he says they already addressed the run defense in the offseason. You know, by doing nothing except hoping Mazi would be better than terrible and adding two ancient vets.

Point is, in Jerry's mind he's given the coaches the players. The problem isn't with his GMing; he's done his job. It's on the players to play better because he knows they're good enough. After all, he's the one who signed them.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan spoke highly of the Cowboys’ running backs, said he doesn’t “necessarily see a change that would involve (Dalvin) Cook this week.”

When asked about potentially adding a running back in the future: “I like what we are with our running backs. We got good depth. We just didn’t get to run them enough Sunday.”

The GM has spoken.
