Alot of Dez supporters are getting the bubble guts. It's like taking that last walk down the long hallway to the electric chair!
Is that what's causing it? I thought it might be that bean burrito I had for lunch earlier.

No, poorly played. None of this should have ever leaked out and the Watkins rumor didn't help this situation. This is like sitting down with your wife and trying to work things out after your girlfriend dumped you.

Bryant's reaction to fan criticism with kiss my *** says all we need to know about where his head is with the public image of this. And he has to know what his worth is on the open market by now because his agent has had all of this time. That could work in Booger's favor, if they have an inkling of that number.

But lemme ask you. You've just seen the deals Brown got last season and Watkins got this season, if you are Bryant are you going to back off? Both of those deals are beyond shocking when it was looking like the NFL was trying to get that position under control.

He was never going to back off because in his mind he is still top 5 which is laughable. It was the right play be the Cowboys. They got this one right.

I don't think the Cowboys really care all that much at this point. Either he takes the pay cut or he is gone. At least if they wanted him to stay that game him something to think about.

Some of you think Dez is Julio Jones and Antonio Brown wrapped into one. He is closer to Johnny Manziel than either one of those two. Complete head case.

Cutting Dez is a smart cap efficiency move, but it will hurt them this year. Like Ware, he will be difficult to replace as number 1 WRs rarely hit FA anymore. Everyone got the memo about FA and teams know to prioritize their own FAs.

I'm not sold on Hurns one bit, don't think he's much better then Terrance Williams. I felt it was an impulse overpay because the FO felt pressure to "do something". Beasley is a limited player and Witten is quickly declining. I'm not sold on Dak, but I haven't given up on him either. I'd prefer to evaluate him with best possible weapons around him and that would include Bryant, even if it's A 1-2 year bridge overpay. The other point is this is not a team that missed the playoffs by much, keeping Bryant could be the difference between missing or making the playoffs next year.

I slightly lean keep Bryant although it's a very close call and one I would almost certainly revisit next year. I would definitely be targeting WR regardless of what happens with Bryant. I like Ridley a lot at 19, probably my preferred pick out of the players who visited with Vea as a close second.

Am I the only one that finds this meeting odd between Dez and JJ? If this was about taking a pay cut or restructuring his contract going forward, shouldn't that meeting be between Dez's agent and the team?

It would make more sense if this meeting was being held for other reasons ie conduct, commitment, work habits, route running, attitude or character, or simply all the above.

As I have been saying for weeks, it would be a huge mistake to release or cut him a just a week or 2 away from the draft and force us to tip our hand heading into the draft.

what am I missing here?

I don't think they will cut him before the draft no matter what happens. I think if Dez agrees they will hold hands and sing a victory tune together along with a big group hug on TV.

If not they will say ok, we will think about it Dez. You have given us a lot to think about. Then they will go draft a player in the first few rounds in about two weeks.

Dez holds all the cards. He has a signed contract and the ability to make at least the same amount elsewhere.

I have been wrong before but I think Hurns is twice the player TWill is.

Stephen has all the cards ... yet

Dez's agent has already told him: accept no pay cut. accept no restructure with incentives. accept no reduced role with an accompanying cut in salary.
We can hook on with 15 other teams!
Dez. Take the pay cut. stay here with a reduced role. Then next year, we'll see.
Yeah, and his agent wants a nice slice of additional guaranteed money they think they can get.

Common sense says he will be gone if he doesn’t accept some type of cap reducing solution. You don’t go through all of this if he is going to come in, say no, and keep his roster spot.

So true....

This pretty much sums it up. People are hyping this up for no reason
