Jerry needs to fire Wade and give Jason

I am one of JGarrett's biggest fans, through thick and thin.
However, I think he needs another couple of years seasoning and marinating in what it takes to be an offensive coordinator or head coach.
His time will come, hopefully here, but right now, it should be Shanny or Gruden or Cowher. Anybody else would just be a "surprise pick" a la Gailey and a disaster with this bunch.

What the hell does number one in offense mean other than yards? The Cowboys red-zone offense is horrible, and 5 of 6 TDs from Romo are over 50 yards. 3 of them were busted plays by the horrific secondary that is Tampa and the other 2 were from an all-world performance by Miles Austin with horrific tackling from the secondary. The passing game against the Giants was horrific. 140 something yards with a 4.4 YPA by Romo, because the Giants took away the downfield threat, dropping their defensive backs. Who decided to go pass happy the second half against the Giants?

I thought the OC is primarily responsible for how the offense practices. The fact that they still don't know how to line-up with time running out is whose fault?

Well, these names weren't UNPROVEN either, like Garrett has been. He did squat as a QB coach, and the only time he had success as an OC was when Sporano was calling and coordinating the offense for him. But hey, those are just facts, so you can go ahead and ignore then.

I wouldn't say it was Sparano calling all the plays for him. Garrett was in charge of the passing game, while Sparano took over the running game. The problem is, teams figured out Jason's passing game. Last year, Houck's first year was here, meaning he didn't get a chance to really implement his system, coupled by the fact he was working with Jason as the OC. The offense looked totally inept.

This year, Houck's impact on this team is really beginning to be felt, but our passing game, which is Garrett's 'specialty' still blows. Jason's inability to mix things up shows he cannot handle the whle picture, at least as of yet.

Nonsense. You never heard of Mike Smith until he got the Atlanta job and you know it.

Andy Reid was "unproven" when he got the Eagles job.

I am Jason Garrett's biggest fan on this forum. Not a doubt in my mind about that. I want him to be our Head Coach.

But not in the middle of a season.

Who do we turn the Defense over to, because firing Wade means we need a DC as well. There aren't any guys available that I am aware of and promoting from within is a huge risk.

I am he second biggest - he is our next HC

I put Herring at DC

I would like to get Nolan but can Jerry pull that one off

How about Jim Harbaugh as DC - he runs a 3-4 out at Stanford

it's funny and maybe it's just me, but I don't see Garrett having the same kind of "fire" that those guys have/have shown.

Jimmy Johnson had that fire... how proven was he as an NFL HC when he was hired?

That would be disastrous.

Why on earth would you promote someone who has struggled trying to keep his own house from burning?

Exactly...

JG is a big red dud. Fire his arse first.

I don't care how "proven" or "unproven" some other coaches in the league were when they got their HC job. That has no bearing on Jason Garrett. From what I've seen of him the last few years, I have no faith in him being a successful HC here.

Being HC of the Cowboys, especially under Jerry and his constant meddling, is a difficult job. The HC needs to be in charge, the buck needs to stop with him. Jerry will never let that fully happen, so we at least need someone in that position who will command respect and authority, whether Jerry gives it to him or not. Someone like Garrett, being promoted from within, with the culture the way it is, won't be able to change that.

Bingo.

It's amazing people are willing to sacrifice another 3 years to let JAC (just a coach) jason experiment & prove himself as as head coach for dallas.

he's already proven himself as an abysmal failure as OC

Not to mention the players DONT respect him if they did would they call him and his play calling out in PC's?

What coach goes on to do ANYTHING without his players respect? If Garrett were promoted everyone will look back at Wades time here as the "good old days". No respect from players and no presence on the sidelines to me equals a horrid HC and a waste of years with the players we have.

It's not hard to figure out the players don't respect him when they are calling him and his play calls out PUBLICLY in PC's show me any good OC that has their players calling them out in PC's.

While your at it find me any coach that has the respect of the players, again, while they're publicly calling him out.

It's not going to happen no respected coach is going to be called out like that nor would the players dare to

How many meetings have YOU been in?

13-3 eh? ok... 1 year with someone holding his hand. What about last year? How about so far this year? yea he's proven/proving himself to be such an amazing OC hasn't he lmao

Id leave Garrett where he is so we can hire 2 defensive coaches next year, one as HC the other as DC. Preferably a 4-3 guy and a 3-4 guy.

Don't like Garrett as a HC or OC.

Would prefer to see someone in that job who earned it. Didn't have it handed down to him cause the owner likes him and is loyal to him.

Only coaches on this team I like are Sherman and DeCamillas
