There's no way to use it to your advantage. Either your receivers or your quarterback will be staring directly into the sun.

Cmon, think about it. You dont look up into the sky to throw a pass. You look up into the sky to catch a deep ball or high pass. Especially since its YOUR stadium, you should know which end will be bad with the sun in the 2nd half for receivers. If they were smart at all they probably talked about it.

Had they run Witten to the other side of the field, there was no sun. Instead, they lined him up on the right side and ran his route directly where he was looking straight back into the sun.
Lol...wow, Witten may not have been the primary receiver on the play. You can't run everyone to the same side.

I agree with this if Witten was the primary on the play. Obviously, you've got to run receivers to both sides, but when you know they are going to be looking back into the sun, then you need to help them out by trying to go to the shady side.

Oh yes there is. First, you take the side that gives you the advantage in the 4th quarter if you have the chance. Second, it's their home field. They should have a specific set of plays designed to neutralize the effect of the sun. They should know from where the QB can throw to a WR and take the sun out of the play and design plays for that. Roll the QB out so he is throwing from a position where the sun is not directly at his back. Do something to limit the impact. It is beyond my comprehension that a pro football coach would allow the design of his stadium to negatively impact his team without even trying to do something about it. It could become a huge advantage if you are prepared for it when other teams are not.

Who won the toss? I didn't see. If we won it, I agree that we should have chosen the side of the field that we know would have given us the advantage when the sun got lower. We've played on this field long enough to know what to expect late in late-afternoon games.

Simple. Put a big TINT ON THAT SIDE. There is not an advantage when both parties have to look into it. Why risk losing when you absolutely don't have to.

I can't summarize bc I'm driving but he kinda called out Garrett for not using the sun issue to our advantage.

He should be calling him out for the fact that one of his players didn't recognize the importance of running his damn *** out of bounds. I mean, the sheer stupidity of this single play has to be an indictment of the entire organization -- that's how truly brain dead it was.

Completely agree. Did anyone else wonder why we got the sun in the 4th quarter even though we won the toss? It was mind numbing. I just can't comprehend this idiocy either.

No one cares about that. The blame game is fun.

Even if we did choose the side people would complain about not receiving the ball first.

1> Player stays in bounds with :12 seconds on clock.
2> Sun blocks "Cowboys" receivers from catching balls.

Got it.
