What is it with this new strength and conditioning staff? We seem to have more back injuries now than ever before. Is it the technique they use or what? We must have had at least 6 or 7 back issues this year alone.

When you are 13-3 there are a lot of guys patting themselves on the back.

I think you can close the book on Lawrence long term. Three years into his career, at just age 24, he continues to have these back issues. He is not only unavailable a great deal of the time, but ineffective when he does play.

There is no way that this team should count on or commit to this player going forward. His spot should be considered as another need area. It's a shame for him, but this is a business.

Definitely needs to do something huge next year to earn a second contract. Maybe we could bring him back for cheap and make him earn it like we did with Claiborne. But after 3 regular seasons, he's missed 16 games (4 to suspension, 12 to injury) and gotten 9 sacks. And I don't know how much of his success last year was due to Hardy drawing double teams on the opposite side.

I'm fine with the "cheap" part but I sure wouldn't pay him any guaranteed money. And even then, can you rely on him to be healthy and not a wasted roster spot? I'm not liking where things look to be headed.

To me, it was obviously a huge contributing factor.
