Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan when asked about Dak Prescott speaking highly of Mike McCarthy and wanting to see him continue being Dallas' head coach: "Dak has a vested interest in the team. He's a critical part of our success as we go forward. His thoughts and ideas about how to be better are very important."

Jones later added: "I understand completely (about him wanting to help Mike McCarthy). That was the right thing for him to say. If he had been out here and our quarterback and making plays and helping us have a better record than we got right now, that's the way you help Mike. Those kinds of things I know are hard when you're hurt."

Lol he was 3-5.
Jerrah can't admit what a massive waste of a contract that was and will be for the next 3 years.
He’s admitted it without admitting it though.

Before the injury Jerry said multiple times he expects better from Dak.

After the injury Jerry said he thought the offense would look better with Rush (he’s been right about that).

He’ll never flat out say he regrets it, but he’ll drop hints.

Jerry obviously didn't want to sign Dak at all. He was pressured into it by the fans and even probably people in the building. Jerry doesn't like Dak that much and he's given off vibes about it, guys Jerry actually likes don't get franchise tagged.

Yet he keeps giving him record deals. Tells us plenty.

I’ve never heard more of an indictment from the windbag than after the second playoff loss to SF when he said he “thought they had a distinct advantage at QB” with Prescott vs Purdy. Made sense. His guy lost.

Just maybe maybe coaching matters Jerry and you can neither do it or select them very well. That’s on you, but not literally of course because you only answer to you, and who is better? No one!

As far as what he meant with Rush….I don’t think he meant the offense would be better with Rush over Dak, but that it wouldn’t have looked as bad as it did initially.

Nothing a couple of NFC East games couldn’t fix. They’ve been feeding the fraudulence with those for years.

Wait. What? "Fans?" Jones has never cared less about fan pressure. The guy would have stepped down as GM decades ago if he had ever stopped and paid attention to fans telling him he sucked at his job.

Maybe DNA Kid #1 twisted his arm? No. I do not believe that either.

I don't know that he doesn't like Dak as a person. I think he has had reservations about his play .... which make the extension that much more perplexing. Also, we know he isn't keen on anyone who even remotely questions his decisions. I think Dak has certainly said a few things that made Jerry grit his teeth.

Jerrah from the top rope.
I wish he would've dropped a “he’s had 4 years to help Mike” bomb.

Maybe Jerry is saving that one for the next time Dak wants to get sassy and forget his lane.

Arrows are pointing towards a MM return. The narrative is being set. A strong finish will seal the deal.
