Does anyone know when Mike McCarthy's current contract officially expires? I must make my annual reservation for witnessing, "CowboysZone Couldn't Believe WHAAAAAT???"

This topic has joined the yearly 'There is NO way Jerry will do something atypical' list of things some people are 100% certain to happen.

As usual, I will simply sit back and wait-and-see what will really happen. Then take in the after-the-fact reactions. Maybe THIS time things will be different. ~softly hums Jeopardy theme~

I despise Jerry Jones like many of us do but I actually don't hate what he said in this case.

I sure hate what he typically says though!

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan when asked about Dak Prescott speaking highly of Mike McCarthy and wanting to see him continue being Dallas' head coach: "Dak has a vested interest in the team. He's a critical part of our success as we go forward. His thoughts and ideas about how to be better are very important."

Jones later added: "I understand completely (about him wanting to help Mike McCarthy). That was the right thing for him to say. If he had been out here and our quarterback and making plays and helping us have a better record than we got right now, that's the way you help Mike. Those kinds of things I know are hard when you're hurt."

That last “later added” quote is diabolical…

Jerrah from the top rope.
Surprised people did pick up on the shade Jerry had been throwing at Dak….

Lol he was 3-5.
Jerrah can't admit what a massive waste of a contract that was and will be for the next 3 years.
.....and the unwillingness to patch up holes that were left.....DL,RB, WR, contract timing (Daks & Cee Dee's), to start with. That what he needs to admit to since many care to dismiss.

Jerry obviously didn't want to sign Dak at all. He was pressured into it by the fans and even probably people in the building. Jerry doesn't like Dak that much and he's given off vibes about it, guys Jerry actually likes don't get franchise tagged.
By the fans?????????? Seriously??????????? More likely by idiots within the organization....starting with his fat headed son Chuckles.

Yeah probably Media more than fans but I swear I saw an interview where someone asked Jerry if "fan pressure" was part of the reason to get Dak's deal done and he said "yes". We all know that it wasn't really the fans, yeah...but I DO think he caved and really didn't want to sign Dak.

wait...what!!!! how was he pressured by the fans? Jerry only sees numbers. he doesn't care about championships and Dak was his only option to keep his numbers up....
and from what I hear around these neck of the woods, the Fans wanted Dak gone, now you are claiming they wanted Dak to stay!!!! so which is it?

Jerry loves Dak...why? because it brings attention to the cowboys. Jerry once said, even bad news is good for cowboys. why else did he drag the contract signing until an hour before the game...oh the drama!!!
and Dak was top 20 in Jersey sales in NFL. that spells $'s to jerry. 12-5 is good to keep fans interested and bring them to the game.
die hard fans don't matter. casual and fringe fans is what he needs to make more money....just keep them interested. give them a good experience and sell hope for the future.

it will be a long 4 years. whether we like it or not, we are stuck with Dak here for the next 3 years. Jerry and Stephen don't like to let players go before their contracts end. so one way or other, he will keep Dak until end of contract. do his master spinning job year to year and do just enough for cowboys to be oh, just so competitive, sell tickets. sell stadium experience. sell jerseys. and go cha ching.
