Yes because what people who suffer from mental illness need are for people to give up on them.

Are you ever not wrong?

True but there does come a point when operating a business or a franchise where they can only do so much and it is up to the individual to turn things around. Fact is there are other option besides weed and while people continue to mention side effects it is a lot better than the side of effects of failing a 7th drug test.

I don't think Jerry will give up on Gregory as a person but as far as a player time is running out.

Let Gregory stay where he is at. There are thousands of NFL players who had no issues staying clean.

What's the harm to us here? Nothing. I could see if Gregory was a clubhouse issue on top of having a drug issue, or he was causing dissension amongst coaches and factions were developing on the team. But none of that is happening. Gregory is apparently well liked by the team and no one seems to have any issues with his character outside of struggling with pot.

So I don't have a problem with it. I fully expect Gregory to never play for us but if the Cowboys want to stash him and see if they can get him back on the field, more power to them.

I think anyone who has an issue with this tends to just like to complain about things Jerry does in general.

Jerry once called over 150 creditors for a player to see if they would accept .30 on the dolla to settle the players debts.

The man really is a great person. He will go out of his way to help any way he can. Good guy!

Owner's meeting in a little under two weeks. If there is movement on this issue it will happen around then.

If Gregory is choosing to take cannabis for a health problem instead of antidepressants, barbiturates, or the like I have zero issue with him personally. He should be allowed to play.

They retain his rights. They aren't paying him. He doesn't take up a roster spot. Providing support is not only the moral thing to do it only provides upside for the organization.

Anyone suggesting this is anything other than the right thing to do is clueless.

They are not clueless. They are punitive and angry. There are a lot of those out there.

He is an URFA in 2018. 2017 looks to be lost and with recent reports of yet another failed test his 7th 2018 looks to be gone as well.
I think Jerry will do what he can to help Gregory but in the end just as it is with any person with an addiction it rest on them, no one can force a person to stop.

Folks dissing Jerry on this ignore the players that he's recruited and who trust him precisely because of this stuff. La'el Collins comes to mind immediately. We play hard in free agency because players know that Jerry and Co. have their backs. That's an asset, not a fault. I'm glad he has Randy's back because the next guy who is looking for more than a paycheck will know the Cowboys are a landing spot.
