Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan when asked about the Eagles' roster construction vs. the Cowboys' roster construction:

"They're at a time where they're paying their quarterback now. They've really spent some money to put this team together, and they've spent some cap. This is a good time for them to hit it because they have a lot invested in this team.

"I for sure make comparisons with the cap status (of other teams) around the league with where they've got room to grow the cap. ... I do that all the time. I observe every club very carefully. I obviously look that over and apply it to us and where we spend our money.

"That's why we (signed Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb) this year. We knew they were cornerstones of now and in the future."

Hey, Jerr, while you're at it examine how they won the draft lottery by trading away players for high picks. Jalen Carter was not cheap.

Idiot.

Copy what other teams do, got it.

So, Jerry, do you have any innovative, revolutionary, cutting-edge thoughts of your own?

.....Didn't think so......

Jerry has no clue. He just thinks he does and that's been the problem the entire time.

Thought Jerry’s answer was better
Stephen never provided an example and he always talks in generalities
Yep. Nepo hire. Stephen wants to feel important in the room so he feels that using buzz words and generalities will fool people into thinking he's qualified in his position. Which he clearly is not. Even when Jerry leaves, we are still doomed.

The Eagles have been to two Super Bowls with two different QBs since the Cowboys gave their souls to loser Dak.

If the Cowboys drafted Carson Wentz he'd still be the Cowboy's QB right now just like Dak is.

Jerry is scared to move on from players/coaches.

A lot of truth in this post. You can bet your house that Wentz would still be here had we drafted him.

His 2017 season would have made him a made man here.

I wish I knew how to post that picture of his demented scribblings on that pad during the owners meeting.

No one ever says what Mountaineer said on Wentz but it's so true. All that love and devotion Jerry has for Prescott he'd have for Wentz. He'd be the highest paid QB in the league right now. Your starting QB for the last 9 years and for the foreseeable future.

Prescott won the lottery when the Cowboys drafted him.

I just looked at the Eagles CAP situation for the next 3 years. I don't see an insurmountable problem for them through 2027. Yes, it is true they will look stressed given some of the players they will have to pay, but the Eagles have looked that way before and have always managed to find an out. Notice how the Eagles have kept the DL intact over the years? They have let some OL go to free agency, but not their top OL. They managed to find replacements at the right time, like Landon Dickerson, for example.

I think most teams do a better job of assessing their own talent than Dallas. They don't overpay their players like Dallas, and they let them go if the price goes to high.

For people who think Dallas disappointed this year, I ask why do you think that? Look at the Eagles skill position players compared to the Cowboys. Do you see the difference? Look at the Eagles offensive and defensive lines? Do you see the difference? The Eagles value interior DL and have for a long time. The Cowboys see it as an opportunity to save CAP space.

Sadly the Wentz thing would probably be 100% accurate after his MVPish season before his injury. Jerry would have been sold

Dak would probably be on his 2nd or 3rd team by now floundering about
