Peters said he needs "a couple weeks" to get ready and he'll play wherever they ask him.

It's clear they want Tyler to be the LT, so let's hope he shows us something on Sunday.

Sounds as if Jerry wants to make sure his 2022 1st round pick Tyler Smith is given every opportunity to earn the starting LT position all season. He finally realizes that Tyron Smith's last days in Dallas are coming soon given injuries recently and he doesn't want to have to rely on Jason Peters at LT.

3-4 IMO i mean first two games is not a fair assessment given the caliber of defense and overall teams etc so it would make sense he might struggle..i think this may change and the discussions all weeks could be start Peters at LT right away and move TS73 to LG gets your best 5 correct, just because Jerry said this doesn't make it 100% true until game day..could be not letting TB know our full plans.

This is all common sense stuff ((rare for Jerry)).

They are going to start Tyler this week and see how it goes.
If he negatively impacts the offense then they'll rush Jason into the mix.
They'll likely also evaluate McGovern and if he is struggling moving Tyler inside in week 3 could make sense.

End of day I like this set up a lot more than mule-headed head in sand we are what we are stuff.

Play the games and evaluate things weekly.
Get the best 5 OL on the field.

Exactly. Tyler playing LT puts a major hole at LG. McGovern couldn’t beat out Connor Williams last year. Let that sink in.

I would say they need to give time for Peters to learn the protections and the offense.

That means Jerry admitting they didnt do enough at OL this offseason. And that Tyler isnt ready to be a LT in the NFL.

This is just Jerry speak, what he means is as soon as Peters is ready he plays PERIOD!!!!

Was low key hoping for a miracle that Peters would be able to play this week, but figured it would be a long shot. Lets give Smith a shot before we proclaim the LT experiment a failure, but I certainly feel better about him transitioning to the NFL by playing G first. He's a freak athlete that just may be able to pull it off, but he struggled a bit at times last year against significantly weaker competition.

You would think its common sense....but of course, we are talking about Jerry. Anything he does has to make himself look good, and not the incompetent GM he is.
