I would say they need to give time for Peters to learn the protections and the offense.

No problem, give Peters time to get up to speed.
Then go with our best combination of Talent.

I can't imagine Tyron is back untill the 4th quarter of the season, if that.

I think he has the first two games. I hope the same for McGovern. To me, it isn't just about how Tyler does, it's about how Tyler and McGovern do as the left-side combo. If either struggles, then we need to go with Peters and the one who isn't struggling.

Exactly. Tyler playing LT puts a major hole at LG. McGovern couldn’t beat out Connor Williams last year. Let that sink in.

This is all common sense stuff ((rare for Jerry)).

They are going to start Tyler this week and see how it goes.
If he negatively impacts the offense then they'll rush Jason into the mix.
They'll likely also evaluate McGovern and if he is struggling moving Tyler inside in week 3 could make sense.

End of day I like this set up a lot more than mule-headed head in sand we are what we are stuff.

Play the games and evaluate things weekly.
Get the best 5 OL on the field.

Was low key hoping for a miracle that Peters would be able to play this week, but figured it would be a long shot. Lets give Smith a shot before we proclaim the LT experiment a failure, but I certainly feel better about him transitioning to the NFL by playing G first. He's a freak athlete that just may be able to pull it off, but he struggled a bit at times last year against significantly weaker competition.

Pretty much my thoughts as well.
I would really like to see Tyler at LG for a period of time before he is moved to LT.

that's insane come on jeez why sigh peters if hes worried about ootics,,hes doig this for reason mostly to maybe get peters ready or lets see how TS73 does , i mean we don't know its a bad decisions.
hes been practicing against our first team defense , know against he likes of some quality Pass rushers and more speed on defense in closed practices. the coaches know Tyler Smith because they see him everyday and we do not..so maybe with some patience hes the next Tyrome smith and you have to sometimes just let those types of players learn on the fly IE Tyrone himself did that very thing, OJT and wasnt perfect,

peters is insurance and no topics needed jerry brought him in for that reason., if needed he will be used for sure. Whether its for 73 or for Steele etc,.

Id prefer Peters if ready to eb the LT and Tyler the LG not because im worried about tyler more so Mcgovern i believe

but again coaches are watching these guys practice against our #1 defense in practices not seen by most but the insider people..he couild be doing very well, both of them,.

As per usual he's overly optimistic.

1. Tyron won't be back. Sorry, but I'll believe that one when it happens and not before.

2. He's not only depending on Tyler to excel, but McGovern to do so as well.

3. He's also expecting Steele to play really well (this one I agree with.)

Best case I still see Peters playing guard and helping Tyler. He didn't come here to sit.

Yes, he's all in on being the smartest guy in the room. His arrogance has cost us time and again. It's amazing he hasn't been humbled.

Peters said he needs "a couple weeks" to get ready and he'll play wherever they ask him.

It's clear they want Tyler to be the LT, so let's hope he shows us something on Sunday.

A rusty 40 yo Jason Peters is still the best LT on Cowboys roster.

Tyler is more game shape but he doesn't understand the position like Peters does.

Start Peters at LT in week 1 and keep Tyler at LG.

McGovern blocking Vita Vea is just conceding defeat.

I wanted Tyler to upgrade the LG position and Peters to replace Tyrone at LT.
