Jerry on idea of creating cap space this offseason

You guys are such suckers for whatever the owner and media tell you.
Why are we sitting on 20 million in cap space this season?
When the pre planned restructures take place this summer, along with the CAP increase, we will be below the cap again, even after signing Parsons.
Why do other teams not only pay top dollar to their QB and stars, but also are big players in free agency every season?

Stop buying into the excuses!
We've reset the CAP after the team showed v GB, they just wasn't good enough. You're actually advocating what Jerry normally does....just enough to be relevant. It's not as if you can't carryover CAP underspend.

You need to look behind the words.....and don't listen to comments such as All-In, that was just an octagenarian thinking he was back in 2023.
Yes Jerry's not up to to, but resetting the CAP wasn't the worst decision he made over the past 6 months....but at least he now has options, Inc restructuring, and/or even maybe mailing in 2025, with a view to evaluating the roster (rookiesand veterans)

Thats the nature of the business. Winning solves everything
Not the lower level of winning we’ve had this era. At least it shouldn’t have solved everything. But many fans all too often have bought into the hype.

Yep, we're just rinsing and repeating, with Jerry trying his annual attempt at being relevant by overpaying 'his guy's' and filling the roster with too many JAG's. This endless carousel of restructuring, just to get the basics, isnt working.

If you're crying out to restructure CAP in 2025, behind what's obviously a very limited roster, then that's the very people who have bought into Jerry's hype. Tear it down, mail in 2025 and get a GM to build it up again in 2026, which is the year that dramatic changes can be made.

You can't seriously, say you're not a Dak fan and then going 4 paragraphs without one criticism of him ?????
Dak and his contract is certainly a part of the problem, the problem being that he, unlike the other elite contracts, requires a full compliment of weapons/protection and defense for him to produce and the length of contract made it more difficult to restructure (especially now as Dak's highly unlikely to get another contract).
The unspent CAP is because we were soft resetting (rather than bringing back the team that proved against GB, weren't good enough). Isn't Jerry's problem (other than getting rinsed in negotiations), that he wastes CAP money just trying to be relevant?
it looks as if Jerry was looking to Dak/CeeDee to up their game and play to their contract....he found out again (as he did after trading Amari) that Dak just needs too much.
Oh and we are top heavy with our CAP, ..WE pay thr largest CAP% on top 3 players and we neve seem tor get production to justify it.
2024, was a look at what we've got, 2025 should be another....if Dak returns as the 2024 version he's likely to be cut in 2026 (post June).
In the church of Dak, this guy is an Arch Bishop. :muttley:

Does that make you the devil?
Another disciple speaks and Ya I guess anyone who doesn't worship the ground Dak walks on is presumed evil and the Devil from his supporters.
Oh, holy Dak please don't throw another interception oh ya pray oh ya so let it be done.......... :muttley:

Talk about hypocrisy, lol. You probably don’t even get it. You were a little pet there. Snickerdoodle.

He would rather spend his cash on the art work that goes in the stadium.

Gonna have 3 of the biggest contracts in the NFL once he gives Parsons his money to go along with Dak and Lamb.

Sninkerdoodle this man..............How does it feel to be a grown man and have a man crush on one of the most inept choking players in the NFL?
Now down on your knees and pray to that Dak photo which I'm sure is next to your bed!

How does it feel, to constantly hate on something merry Christmas to you. Enjoy your snickerdoodle. I’ll make a copy of the photo just so you can have something to cuddle with. I know you secretly love him. You must you can’t keep them out of your mind.

We are so lucky to have Jerry and Stephen
Most GMs just don’t understand the cap and the team suffers
Yes I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of the teams that are advancing in the playoffs with a better than average chance of two of them going to the Super Bowl. These teams are doomed not proactively managing the salary cap in upcoming years unlike the Cowboys who are uncannily clairvoyant on what the increases will be. The salary cap super management trophy is up for grabs and Jerry and Stephen are all over it.

Jerry's only doing what pretty much everyone else is doing . He's just had three 12-5 seasons, with lets be fair, a decent roster (he's just not committed to it).
Now look at the 2023 trade deadline, the question was do you trade for Derrick Henry for what would ,for us, would of been our 2024 1stRd pick for him? @Blackrain was a big advocate for that (as I was), but that would, in hindsight, would of been a disaster as he wouldnt of got us past GB, that was down to us not stopping GB offense and Dak/Mike moving away from the patient run, that was working (albeit slowly) and go to the pass which failed.
Fine we gave it a go, failed and this year wouldnt of had Guyton nor Beebe.

As for restructuring the CAP.....just look at Dak's CAP hits during the 4 years of the contract, and $37m (of void CAP to pay in 2025) if we dont extend DLaw, Zack and Cooks, and we do have Tyler (who'll demand LT money and Micah on $40m per. .....at some time you have to pay the bill at some time.

We certainly will restructure some of next years CAP, but are we seriously in a position to compete in 2025....Jerry's main problem is that he builds his strategy on competing EVERY YEAR, chasing relevance behind restructured CAP....NEVER BUY YOUR GROCERIES ON A CREDIT CARD.

Now we mention the Eagles and how do they do it, well Hurts has a been playing on a nice manageable contract (10% CAP), which they dont have to worry about UNTIL 2029 ($97M), WHICH WONT MATTER AS HE'LL BE TRADED or EXTENDED IN 2027 . Jerry cant do that as a) he cant get his players (eg Dak) to take that longer contract and b) he'll never trade a 'star' player.

I agree that there's the possibility to restructure CAP, but are we seriously close enough to compete and do you want Jerry to be the architect.....the answer's no and no, the only way out of this is to take the hit in 2026 (but Jerry will mess it up, but by stupidly spending just to be relevant).

The Cowboys signed Dak to a 4 year extension. They obviously didn't take this year seriously. Now they are saying next year is a wash. If 50% of a guy's contract is going to be wasted . . . why sign him? If the Cowboys had simply let Dak go they would be sitting on massive capspace for a rebuild next year. As it stands now, the team isn't even going to start to try to be competitive until 2026 or later. Not signing Dak would have actually moved the window sooner because it would have ripped the bandaid off.

Either way he would have got the bag. If they waited, the football God's wouldn't have let Dak get hurt, he would have had 10,329 yards, and 831 touchdowns and would have got his 60 million anyways

Brace yourself for sitting out another offseason.

It is really unbelievable.
They really have to hope to hit on some really cheap FAs from various other semi pro football teams and maybe an aging FA with a little left in the tank.

They are betting on finding another Turpin or Aubrey.

Problem is they are playing against the house and got lucky a few times but odds are against them.

Yes, but lets be fair, if the god's shone on Dak and he was able to produce that, then most of us wouldnt of minded paying him.....especially as he would of done it with a lesser Offense and presumably he stepped up.

I hear you, i'm just saying either way I feel he gets it, they don't want this guy to ever leave
