KM has already accepted the job imo. Just waiting to announce until after the season.

That's what I'm thinking. Sounded like McCarthy almost let it slip after the game, too.

So it might already be a done deal, and it wouldn't do Jerry any good to keep campaigning for keeping him.

I think Jerry realizes he isn't prepared to offer KM a head coaching job and he simply wishes him the best if he leaves for greener pastures.

I also believe KM was needed this season as a bridge to MM. Next offseason won't be the same. Im sure MM has learned the terminology and play book and is in position to run with it next year, making his own adjustments and implementing his preferences.
