He's right.......Kevin couldn't ask for a better opportunity to earn a starting job next season.

Yup, if he goes out and plays like the starter then we go into next year without needing Brown (though we could resign him cheap as depth later in the year when he returns) and without having to draft CB.

The timing would be nice if he gets it going now, the skills are there but he’s gotta put it together. I’m glad we have Houston and Jax to get him his confidence. He also played well last year against Philly so maybe that carries over to Christmas Eve.

Now, we're about to find out what Kelvin Joseph is and will be going forward. Jerry is 100% correct in is statement that it's up to Kelvin Joseph to prove he's the man that we hoped he was when he was drafted. Whatever he does going forward will set the stage for his future. I'm relieved for the Cowboys and Kelvin as well. I'm seeing this as his big chance to prove himself, once and for all. Whether he knows it or not, his future is with the Cowboys.

The ball is in his court to be the man that we have hoped he'd be. What he does from here on out will be what his future will be with the Cowboys team. Here's hoping he'll respond like the man that we assumed he'd be. For his sake, and that of the team, let's just hope he's ready to step up and prove what he really is. He'd better put his rapping aside now and just concentrate on being the best Cowboys cornerback he can be.

Reads to me like a “grow up kid” comment.

I can certainly see it from an organizational perspective because it’s year two for a second round pick and he needs to step up at a position of need.

And Joseph either does that now, or the team will not factor him into future plans and will start the process of replacing him.

This is the definition of a career crossroads.

true,

HOWEVER, this fanbase need to lower expectations and give him fair assessment. if you expect him to be Diggs and that how you react to his play, that won't be fun debate around here.

lets keep him compared to Brown/Lewis level of play IE both have susceptible to get beat at times, get over panelized at times, been our weak links at times on defense. so lets keep Calm and let see how he develops over 6-7 starts and not judge every snap or bad play, Just keep our expectations with perspective.

Growing pains will happen.

Sometimes a scrub is just a scrub. That's what you get when you ignore a position. Because Jerrah demands that it's time for him to play good doesn't mean he suddenly will.

I expect some ups and downs but like Brown, I expect more him to do his job. For all the trash Brown has taken he has made several big plays, he may get beat on occasions as most CB will at times but we need him to go out and defend passes and make plays.
