Jerry on RB and WR

Nolen or Grant I would have been very happy with. The defense was PATHETIC last year. And a few reject FAs and a few day 3 picks will do nothing.
I would have been fine with one of them too. But then everyone would be having a fit when he's not all pro straight away.

There are only 3 potential RB1s left. If we don’t get one at 44 then we will have another season where we can’t run the ball.

I just hope they're a tiny bit aggressive. Just don't sit there for 11 picks WATCHING Burden, Judkins, Henderson and other studs go to their rivals. Creep up and get your guy. They have 9 more draft picks. Bundle a few to get better, more talented Wrs and RBs.
I think this is a good idea. The two 5th rounders could move us up about 4-5 spots theoretically. But the 5 picks in the 6th and 7th round are worthless at moving up in the 2nd.

The Cowboys will do what they always do on the first two days of the draft. Sit there watching players go to our rivals.

I'm not discouraged by the result of our 1st pick. The most important thing that I've considered from that pick's analysis is that he doesn't allow sacks. If that's not worthy of approval, I don't know what is! Our QBs should be pleased with that pick.

If nothing else, I'm encouraged by our intention of boosting the OL's pass protection. The Cowboys' OL has historically leaned toward performing at a level that the opposition found very difficult to deal with. Returning to that isn't a bad idea at all, imho.

Ignoring the defense is gonna a cost us again....
Yes, but by extending Dak and promoting our OC to be HC it was obvious we were going to go heavy on offense in the draft.

Need a strong run game so we dont have to rely so much on the highest paid QB in the league.

Can’t imagine he will be
Just looked at a few mocks for the second and both Henderson and burden gone before 12. There are other players of course, but it will be interesting to see how we approach the second round.

When the selling point of a guy who will need to be a full time starting WR is "i have no idea if he can play or not but neither do you", then you know we are in trouble if thats the guy. He has been in the league for a few years. If we are still making excuses or saying we don't know if he can play then he should not be in the conversation for starting WR2..
Guess what, The Cowboys drafted Booker last night with the 12th pick. We have no idea if he can play either.

Antonio Brown was the best WR in football for a stretch. Big Ben went down and he immediately STUNK. Hell, you couldnt even play him on your fantasy team he was so bad. Nw is it because Brown sucked? Or the gy that took over for Ben sucked? That is my point about Mingo. It isnt an excuse, but anyone playing with a SORRY qb isnt gonna look very good. He played one season and part of a next and was traded. If you think the book is closed on this guy.... wow.

I wouldn’t worry so much about RB or WR.

Yes, I understand those spots need upgrades but this team is NOT ready to win. They need to fix DT in a big way or nothing else matters.

Didn’t hate the pick last night, but they needed to deal down and take one of the DT that went soon after.

Also they CANNOT trade a draft pick for a RB that’s in his walk year. No way.

Take the year and see what you have in Tolbert before his deal is up. Mingo needs opportunity. Brooks is still around.

Yeah, I get that the RB group quite weak and they are missing a WR2…but this team isn’t very good overall, and is definitely not in final piece mode….which is what shiny skill players are.
