Fire our toughness? You mean the players to stop the run. Has zero to do w/ fire and toughness. This team has taken on the persona of it's owner.
Are the Cowboys a bad team? No. Bad teams don't go 36-15 over three seasons.
But are they a great team? No. They are simply satisfied with being relevant and don't have the fire or the toughness to stand up to the 49ers or other teams that have equal or more talent.

close enough to keep folks interested but not close enough to win when it counts.OK, to be fair the Cowboys are close in the manner Jerry claims. We aren't the Bears, Falcons, Cardinals, Vikings, Panthers, Commanders, etc.. Those teams are the ones in constant cycles of rebuild and have been spinning their wheels worse than Dallas.
But just look at what the 49ers did, down 24-7 to Detroit, on Sunday. That is what separates the good from the great. And this is what the Cowboys lack.
I was actually surprised at how hard they kept playing while being run over. They showed massive toughness, but not near enough talent. It definitely goes beyond fire and toughness. They just don't have the D line or LBs to have a quality run defense. A serious run D. Not one that can stop some crappy offense in October. One that can stop playoff teams in January where they usually get run over.
Wait until Jerry announces hard knocks on Comedy Central.Man, what an offseason this will be.
The Cowboys are in an incredibly bad division. This team has taken on the persona of it's owner.

Truth is stranger than fiction. No fiction writer would dare propose the outrageous crap that goes on around this team. Too unbelievable. I can only laugh at this organization ... Like everyone else.
