I heard a few minutes of Jerry being interviewed this morning. He said issues like Scandrick's status for next season are not reviewed until after the season. He did seem to talk about Scandrick in the past tense and kept mentioning the injuries. He didn't seem irritated about Dez but did mention he had a lot of drops. He said Dez was better mentally (personality) than in the past and was now better with people than in the past. He seemed to just comment on where Dez is mentally but not much on his actual overability at this point in time. He repeated a few times that they can spend money to get better.
That’s everyone that talks about their team... imagine the browns GM/owner talking about the team... nothing but a puff piece about a winless team lol
The only thing that would ease my total lack of interest in anything this team does right now would be getting rid of Garrett. Anyrhing else is just blah.
Until they get rid of Garrett and preferably replace Dak with a real QB my interest is going to be lukewarm at best.
Ya , I do think Jerry sees that the swing OT is a real problem and poor evaluation and drafting that position is the biggest concern of this organization. Thsnk god we have Garrett to right this wrong and Dak to keep us on beam.
Idk what you call a real QB is but this coaching staff can put a 26 year old Tom Brady behind center and manage to make him look like a bum. This team isn’t going anywhere any time soon until their are serious changes from the top to bottom.
As they do most offseasons. Though this time I expect money to be thrown at not just Martin but some general reinforcements. I'd still caution anyone thinking we're going to jump into the tip top end of the market. But hey let's see who becomes available.
Kind of sounds like he was leaning towards being a little more active in FA........if that's the case I hope he means more quality than quantity.
He was somewhere in the middle. He acknowledged the drops and did not praise his performance this year, but he did praise his improved mental makeup. Jerry probably sees Dez returning but Stephen/Garrett/McClay will likely present the details (cap info, alternatives, Dez issues) to Jerry after the season. I don't think Jerry keeps any cap info in his memory. I had hoped Jerry would express more concern about the meltdown that Dez had but he just focused on claiming Dez is in a good place mentally now. Stephen hates wasting money so he might push to move on.
