Jerry: Parsons is an integral part of the future

If the plan is to build around Parsons, then get a quality defensive system that maximizes his abilities.

Whether it’s Rob Ryan, Marinelli, Quinn, or Zimmer— the story continues to be the same: We can’t stop the run, our fundamentals suck, and we fold in big moments.

It would be awesome if the next HC and his staff came equipped with a pair of nuts and could somehow help these guys man up and play the game the way it is meant to be played.

We are soft. And the entire organization enables softness

Well I guess that kinda seals it.

The 1st 40 mil per edge rusher coming this offseason. Signed, sealed and delivered sometime in August or early September.

As always, return on Cowboys second contract investment is optional. And most likely a failure.

But the future so bright, I gotta wear shades.
LOL
Cowboys!

Most SB teams spend 50% of the Cap on 3 players. I am pretty sure I read that was the key to success somewhere.
No, the key to the success is that those 3 players play up to their contracts...especially when the team needs them.

Are they paying a LB as the best player in the NFL?

Are they paying an average QB like THE BEST offensive player in the NFL

Are they paying a good CB who cant tackle top 5 CB money?

We can not and should not pay Parsons
....and soon paying our LG, LT money to keep him away from the market.

Parsons by himself is a waste here. It has become too easy for average OL to counter Parsons and take him completely out of the game. Paying 1 good guy then surround him with bums is pointless.
Agree, pass rush is about hunting in packs....he's also shown wanting in discipline against the run.
A good defense can RPO him to death.

KC pays Mahomes, Kelce, and Chris Jones top money. They also have the top paid Center, and top 5 OT in salary.
Sure. But in their case those players actually produce commensurate with their salaries. Ours do not.

He is dead serious........Parsons is getting his contract or bag as some put it and be here for the next 3-5 years.

Jerry Jones, Cowboys see Micah Parsons as an "integral" part of the future

FRISCO, Texas – As the trade deadline approached last week, there was some speculation as to whether or not the Dallas Cowboys would move Micah Parsons. That speculation was baseless, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants Parsons to be in the fold for the long run.

"No, absolutely not." Jones said on 105.3 The Fan when asked if the team had considered trading Parsons.
He's just committed $90m + to become an offense first team....THAT NEEDS A LEAD to get the best out the QB.
As we know, stopping the run would be the need, but Jerry ain't interested in stopping the run.
Jerry and his stars

Only fans would think that he's not. It's like expecting Cleveland to trade Myles Garrett (which some were hoping), and it would be like Pittsburgh trading Watt or San Fran trading Nick Bosa. These players don't come around very often, so when you find one, you don't get rid of him early in his career.

Add in Overshown and J. Lewis. All the rest can go pound sand!! LOL
I'd throw our corners in there. I know some are mad at Diggs, but he's coming off a major injury, fighting through injury and teams still aren't completing that much against him. Kind of like with Lewis, the pass defense isn't failing because of him.

I'm hopeful that we re-sign Lewis again next year and actually get to see a healthy Diggs and Bland as our starting corners.

I'll also give Kneeland a break. He's a rookie who was thrown into a tough situation. I think he'll be a solid contributor. Same with Liufau.

And I'm ready to give the other safety pair, Bell/Thomas, a try over Hooker/Wilson.

It is sad when fans can see the issues better than the GM

The 3 teams you named all are walloping in mediocrity because they dont have a QB

Just look at Was or Texans and on and on

All 3 teams have assets that can get them multiple rd 1 picks to go get a QB but they will try to muddle along with average QB play generating revenue and win nothing of substance

So true .......especially while they are playing at a high level.

Here comes the open checkbook by Jerry.

We have yet to really get a good look at Parsons outside a Dan Quinn defense.

That means we trade him for two firsts and use them to rebuild ?

It's just too hard to find those players. I mean, we haven't had that kind of domination from a pass rusher since DeMarcus Ware, and we didn't let him go until the injuries vs. production/cost made a difference.

Some just seem to think you can find someone close to as good easily with those draft picks you'd get and fill two or three other positions effectively as well. That's a very optimistic view of the draft.

About the only chance you have of that is if you ask for what Cleveland reportedly wanted to consider trading Garrett, a Herschel Walker-type trade. And even then you can strike out or not come close to getting the value back.

I'm more in favor of building around our All-Pros than trading them. And I think what gets our fans frustrated and willing to trade players like Parsons is the fact that our front office doesn't do a good job of filling in around them. Of course, Parsons being hurt this year also has helped them develop grass-is-greener syndrome, which in this case appears to be that draft picks are better to have than a top high-paid pass rusher.

+1 honestly .....I think most of his critics know how good he is and can be a HOFer in the right scheme. His personality and off-field rub some the wrong way. As we have seen it is hard for some to separate their personal feeling from football talent.

Why Jerry?

Jerry: well he is top 10 in jersey sales and top 3 Cowboys jersey sales so he is integral to Cowboys hitting the 11B mark.
