And for some reason, fans fret over player salaries. I'll never fully understand that. Yes, I understand there's a cap, but plenty of teams have shown they can pay their top players market value and still manage the cap and win. The Joneses' free agent philosophy isn't based on the cap. The cap is used as an excuse when convenient, but there have been years, including this one, where we clearly could have done more in FA but didn't because of philosophy, not money.
 
Good luck being able to sign anyone worth a darn if they pay Parsons who’s best production already looks behind him.

I mean even a broke clock is right twice a day. Trading a top 5 defensive player for 2 1s would be one of the stupidest things you could do as a GM.
 
I don’t want Parsons to be traded by the Cowboys but Jerry needs to shut up. Everything needs to be on the table. For once let some team make a crazy offer. You never know. Reminds me when Jerry said he wouldn’t trade Dak when we first franchised him. Even the Ravens let Lamar dangle with the non exclusive franchise tag. Some front offices get it, others don’t.

What’s your point? You want to compare Mahomes to Dak, or Jones to Parsons.
Those players play each and every game at 125%
Can you say the same about Parsons who fades after week 10 and has done nothing in the offseason?

A few people have said it and I will say it as well… there is no accountability in Dallas.

We have an overhyped LB who some were comparing to LT…
He can be good at times, is he consistent… heck no

Plenty of teams, but you don't seem to remember those cap hell years that caused a similar lack of production like we see this year. The contracts and their pay do matter. If it was another GM managing it, then yes, you have a valid point. But we have a part-time GM who thinks he's a genius when he constantly just caves and gives players everything they want....which is a good way to get into another cap hell situation. I think that cap hell situation is what led to their current free agent philosophy.

Brandon Carr led to their current free agency philosophy. It was an overreaction to overspending for a good player. Instead of tweaking the philosophy to not overpay, they just decided to make sure they don't overpay by shopping cheaply. It had nothing to do with cap hell. Our cap hell days were over by then. We are not in cap hell now, we're in cap choice.

The big difference is they are getting production from them after their big contracts AND winning when it matters. Worth the investment.., unlike these fools.
