......writing a super bowl story.. smdh
Is there any shot Garrett is extended if they miss the playoffs ?
Problem is, Jerry knows now, the bs he is selling we aren’t buying.
That’s why he’s getting frustrated
Says nothing about me, but yeah, certainly paints a very very negative and unflattering picture of you
My loyalty goes back long before JJ came into the picture. When you grow up watching the team from the beginning, it's dang hard to just quit watching, even if JJ's in charge. I don't let the losses get me down like I used to, but I care, whether I want to or not. Guess I will 'til they lay me down. This is not meant to be another thread about Jerry being a drunken, idiot, lying so and so who's hoodwinked us all and ruined a great institution we love, the Dallas Cowboys. Nor is it meant to be a defense of Jerry in any capacity. Just some honest observations as I sift through our annual collapse in my mind.
Honestly--the more I Think about this chain of events over the past decade or two, the more I grow in admiration for Jerry's business acumen and salesmanship. And yes, for purposes of this particular thread, I'm separating the business side of football from the football side of football. The man is dang good, whether anyone wants to hear it or not.
I mean--think about it--you go on this forum and daily there is thread after thread (rightly) calling him out for the mess that this organization has become, at least in a purely football sense. People call him everything they can possibly think of to call a man, they question his intelligence, they malign his GM abilities, his character. etc. And yet--
Every single year, every single one of these people is back, energized and optimistic, or at the very least, displaying some degree of enthusiasm and hope at the berth of a new season that *could* (but as history has shown us, likely won't) turn out like we hope it will.
Many people now posting about the horrific level of talent on our roster were the same people talking about how this team had few if any visible weaknesses 3 months ago. The talk has gone from "Pay Dak and Amari before it costs us even more" to "Burn down the entire roster and start from scratch with all news players and coaches".
Think about that. Ponder it. What does this tell you about Jerry's ability to sell and market himself and his team?
And then, more importantly, ponder this, next year, come the end of training camp, no matter what happens between now and then from a personnel or organizational standpoint, every one of us will be back here, ready to go and convinced that this is finally going to be "our year". You can say you won't, and right now you might even actually mean it, but you'll be back. We all will.
In light of that, ponder this as well:
What does that say about us? And I"m saying us. Me included.
Candidly, it's not flattering folks. Those that said loyal fans have been a part of the problem all along, may be more right than anyone wants to admit.

They do have talent. Lots of teams win with A LOT less. He never sold me. The coaching is horrific.
Fair enough. I can listen to some of that.
Honest question:
Will you continue to come back, year after year, no matter how bad it gets? (and yes, it could and potentially will, get worse)....
I will watch but I never get invested with JG as HC. He has gone 12-4 before. But He makes too many simple mistakes. Fundamental football. Stuff pee wee kids learn. In fact that’s all they learn.
If he hires a new HC with some clout the whole world will be watching. Jerry will be in heaven.
