Jerry promises changes are coming

No his situational playcalling is bad.

His situational game management is terrible as well.

But he's bad situationally in every area.

So you not only want an new OC but a playcaller too.

That basically makes Jason Garrett a figurehead at head coach in your new plan. An offensive guy with no stamp on his own offense.

Great idea. Parting gifts at the door.

We hear this same spiel every year.

And what's the end result? Maybe 5, 6 new guys. Maybe 2-3 of those are starters. Maybe we get 1, 2 more wins.

Every year ends in the same bitter disappointment that's at the opposite spectrum of the hope that begins it.

Obviously 2012 will be the same old bs three ring circus sideshow excuse for a front office.

The problem with Jerry is, he thinks like a homer. And homers are the worst at building a franchise winner, they are way too emotional and caught up in certain players. He needs a professional who thinks like a GM.
good point

I mean seriously, and I'm not trying to take a jab at anyone, just think about it for a moment. You go to like the Commanders board, and read how those fans think. Now, imagine making changes based on what those people are talking about, would be a complete disaster. And BTW, that includes me too.

How many times do we say something like, THIS GUY SUCKS FIRE HIM NOW? I heard fans talking about firing half the team. People thought Austin was a sure fire hall of famer after 1 great season, and so did mr Jones. As opposed to finding out if he can do it more than 1 year.

When you have everything that money can buy, the only thing left is the emptiness within, and that emptiness within Jerry can't be purchased. He wants so badly to do this on his own that he's willing to destroy this franchise to get it. And people say that he has professionals that he listens too, but at the end of the day, they may tell him something but if he truly WANTS something else, he's going to get it. Why? Because he gets what he wants, his rich.

Dictators do not exactly promise change. He is more like royalty. All you know is that they will continue to rule as they always have and then you have the distinct pleasure of looking forward to his progeny taking over after he steps down or passes on. You can only hope the successor is better.
After the mass protests Mubarak promised all sorts of "changes" to his government. But that wasn't enough because the real problem was Mubarak. Likewise, Jerry is the real problem here and any "changes" he is promising are just B.S as long as he is running the show.

Your post will hurt some people's feelings, but it's all true.

Jerrah always promises something big...then almost always disappoints. In the past, his something "big" has been an overpriced underperforming FA that hurts the team long term. The Cowboys need to continue the youth movement. In draft, build both lines first...then defensive secondary. Dallas must have the worst draft record over the past 10 years. Our scouting department should be sacked in full, and Jerrah should look to proven results to rebuild (teams that remain competitive year after year and always seem to have a chance to win the SB).

Because I couldn't disagree with what you just said more.

You blame the coach. I blame the players who aren't good enough.
Actually I blame both the coach and the players. And I believe Garrett could use some help until he gets more experience.

"We'll make some changes; I'll assure you we'll make changes," Jones said. "When you work for youself, there's not but one thing to change — that's what's in that mirror."

I take that to mean there is another facelift coming.

I don't know how with that attitude you could be anything but encouraged by our 2011 off season. We cut Barber, Williams, Gurode, Davis, and Colombo. Had things gone a little differently, we would have done the same with Newman. Later we kicked Choice to the curb.

It kinda seems like there is a professional at work who things like a GM.

" Locker room chemistry is overrated "

" Romo friendly "

" Parcells was here to help build a stadium "

" Tebow wouldnt see the field here "

" We want to be the first team to play in its own Super Bowl "

c/s...the homers (here or elsewhere) are too quick to crown a player just like jerry who is too quick to give a player a longterm deal.

Yes I want his hands off this offense.

I've seen enough.

The proof is in the pudding, and the pudding he's been feeding us lately tastes like dog poo.

Show us Jerry, prove it, because we've heard this a lot before, and nothing has changed.

Yet the guy in charge of our scouting department is interviewing for the GM job of one of the top franchises in terms of winning over the past decade. Maybe it's not the scouting department . . . . ;)

The only change I want from Jerry Jones is him stepping down from the GM position.

I just hope this doesn't turn into signing a bunch of 29+ year old free agents to big expensive contracts that puts us right back in the salary cap hell we escaped from this year.

The changes they're referring to are obviously changes to the art at Cowboys stadium. That way Al Michaels can spend 20 minutes on Sunday Night football talking about it (and Gene) each and every time there is a game there.
