Jerry said we are hitching our wagons to Romo.

What other current NFL QB would be posting better stats than Romo with the current playcalling and supporting cast?

Romo is asked to win games pretty much on his own. Even when the team is leading, he is asked to close out the game via the play calls. He is asked to throw the ball 40 times and that mean the game is on him, good or bad.

Sometimes the defense shows up (more this year) sometimes not. Once upon a time, the team had a running game, mostly not anymore. OL has been shaky for years...

Romo needs a fricking running game and a coach/OC that will actually call running plays.

He has the 1# ranked defense in the NFL and more than enough playmakers to rack up 300 yard games. He has enough to be successful in the league, this year no one really has a running game, GB,NO,Pitts none have dominate running games. That's the way the league is today.

So, if you give Romo a #1 D, a dominant Oline, a dominant running game, one of the best wr+te combo in the league, then only then will he be successful? Give me a break.

no offense..but how many of these blunders is it going to take for you to think otherwise?

Many fans will not give up on him til he's gone. Just like Roy Williams. Like Quincy Carter.

I'm not sure what more Romo can do to prove he isn't the guy after yesterday.

He'll probably play well next game and they'll think all is well again.

Dallas needs to take a hard look at Robert Griffin III in the draft. The kid throws the best deep ball I've seen in a long time and has all the tools to be a phenomenal pro quarterback.

Don't you know that you are being histrionic by not recognizing that Tony is better than any back-ups on our team? :)

If Tony played within himself, win lose or draw, I think that people would have more respect for him. He clearly has emotional/cognitive issues that manifest themselves under pressure - and perhaps the greatest pressure for him occurs when he is presented with the simple task that will ensure victory catch and place the ball properly for the kick, take a knee rather than personally punch it in on a goal line stand, preserve a 3 TD+ lead by throwing the ball away, preserve a 2 TD lead, etc.

The emotional element of this situation is not the fan drawing logical conclusions from a recognizable trend, it's the QB playing with irrational exuberance at the most inopportune times.

Maybe the Rams will get the #1 pick and we could offer them something for Luck.

Dolphins, Viking, Colts and the Chiefs will all have a say in the matter b4 us even IF we were interested, and we won't be.

As much as I like Romo, and as much as I hope he leads us to a Championship, how many more games does he personally have to lose before he loses the confidence of the team?

Wade lost the team last year, how long before the players get fed up with busting their tails to get in position to win only to have one players repeatedly throw the game away?

Will he start hearing boos like Troy did at the end of his career?

Would Red ever bench him?

I like Tony Romo. But I like the Dallas Cowboys more.

Jeez. I am not a Romo fan, but even I think a bunch of you guys are going overboard.

The reality is that Dallas missed its window to consider replacing Romo the moment they signed him to that monster contract extension - we are stuck with him no matter what unless he's so bad that we've GOT to replace him, which isn't likely to happen.

If he keeps it up don't expect to hear this in the offseason.

If the opportunity presents itself in the draft the Cowboys will make a move.

I can see that!

people. Stop. Stop. Stop. We can win with Romo. But Garrett/Jerry need to let GO of this notion that he is Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Manning etc....Jerry needs to invest in some interior OL...and they need to become a better running team. We cannot continue to ask Romo to throw the ball 50 times. We just can't. But when we run and get 2 yards on first down. The entire drive is in jeapordy. We ask Romo to do TOO MUCH.

So why was our game plan working along with the running game in the 1st two quarters? Hmmmmmm?

Again, I am a big Romo fan, but this crap has got to stop! This one is on Romo. We are a better team than the Lions, but Romo helped breathe life back into them, and now we're the goats, and they are the toast of the town sitting at 4-0.

Romo has to stop believing (maybe not outwardly, but subconsciously) the media BS that they spew. It becomes self-fulfilling prophecy, because the media just rides the waves as they currently play out. There are more anti-Cowboy elements in the media than there is otherwise. This is a known fact. Objectivity died a long time ago. So, of course most of them are going to love to pounce on the QB for every predicament that happens, whether it really is his fault, or otherwise. Since he's the Cowboys' QB, he's going to have to live with the scrutiny. He can't control that, but he can control how he reacts to it. Brush it off - both the praise and the criticism. Don't worry about it. The fact is, it is a really difficult thing to win a SB, let alone multiple ones, because it is a team game. Mistakes will happen. Just keep plugging away. "Believe in the process." No one outside of the team has any ability to affect their play unless they let them.

Man I really like Landry Jones I would think at 8-8 or 7-9 you would have a real shot in the draft. Let's face it this teams biggest problem is OHNO ROMO. There isn't another position on the team that really needs to be fixed. There is a ton of talent and the OLINE is starting to look really solid.

Really? I know many OU fans who hate this guy with a passion. He is not an NFL quarterback.

I don't have a problem with it being said.

Kitna is simply not better than Romo.

And that's what this team is being built around. The best players play.

I have no problem with the owner showing full support and confidence in Romo because really...it's the best option we have right now. I think the chances are slim, but just maybe the owner supporting and being confident in our QB and our HC being supportive and confident in our QB...gets our QB to turn things around.

I just believe that every position should be critically considered in the offseason, unless that player is arguably the best at their position. So that pretty much takes out Ware and Witten...and that's about it. But if Jerry wants to put Romo in there in the offseason...at this point it would be foolish.

Romo - you can love him or hate him but you can't ignore him any more than you can predict what he will do.

As long as you don't much care whether the team wins or loses, he's fun to watch but if you have any emotions involved in the game, you're in for a rough ride with Romo. He will be as dumb as he is brilliant and as inept as he is adept. He will win games in spectacular fashion just as he will lose game spectacularly.

He's fun to watch but if I were a gambler, I would never bet on him or against him. He's just fun to watch.

At the risk of repeating myself, we were 1-7 with Romo last year under Wade Phillips and Wade Wilson before Wade got fired and Romo got hurt. So JG is hired, leaving Kitna to direct traffic. Lo and behold, Kitna saves JG's job by directing the team to a 5-3 record. But something else was fairly obvious. The difference in the performance of the team under the leadership of Kitna vs. Romo was as obvious as it was startling. Plus, JG's play-calling sure seemed pretty good to me.

Ok, now let's dial in to this year. Romo starts again, and promptly loses the Jet's game virtually on his own. Now his starting(losing) record with the team, dating back to last year, increases to 1-8.

Then, by some blessed miracle of St. San Francisco Holley, Romo pulls the dying rabbit out of the hat and leads the team to a victory, upping his win total dating back to last season, to 2-8. Cowboy Nation rejoice!!! Our 'elite' QB is back!!!!

Ah no . . . DOINK! Monday night happens. The fumblin, bumblin' personnel of the keystone offensive cops led by Tony Romo put on quite a circus. BUT THEN. . . by some blessed miracle of St. Bailey and St. Rob Ryan we win!!!! Cowboy Nation rejoice??? Uh........no! However, there is a spot of good news. Romo increased his win total as QB of the team to 3-8 dating back to last season. Can we all jump on the positivity train again?

Um....yeah ... well, maybe. Ok ... so not really, because yesterday happened. The perfect storm of Red and Romo coming together like two serial killers stumbling into each other . . . and alas, Romo's sterling record of 3-8 dating back to last season, falls to 3-9.

Well, I don't know about you, but 3-9 and a Romo style QB won't cut it in the pass-happy NFL. The guy couldn't even beat the lowly Lions staked to a 27-3 lead! That's bad. So very, very bad.

But wait! It gets worse. We've most likely used up our quota of miracles this season.

So, I looked into my crystal ball. And saw more bad. Then, I saw some good. Then, I saw more bad. Then I calculated that for Romo to bring his record up to 9-9, dating back to last season, he'd absolutely have to win six more games this year. But then I ran into trouble with the second 9. It won't remain a constant.

What does it all mean, I asked myself feverishly. Well, I could let go of the past and give Romo a clean slate this year. But then I wouldn't have a trend. A trend is your friend when it comes to predicting how Romo is going to do the rest of the year. And it doesn't look good.

Nevertheless, I'll never say never when it comes to Romo. That'd be like drawing a gun on Billy the Kid. Just don't do it!

Well said. I'd wager the average NFL fan - if they aren't one of those that blindly just hate the Cowboys - enjoys watching Romo.

He's capable of playing some of the best QB imaginable, as he did for nearly 3 quarters yesterday, then out of nowhere can look like a lost rookie. When he's on, no lead is safe for an opposing team. When he loses it, evidently no lead is safe for his own team.

listen...the Pats had a 21 point lead and Brady threw 4 picks to lose that lead to the Bills? Why, because they are a PASSING team. It is a passing league. And the teams that are PASSING teams leave themselves open to this. Now we can argue whether or not we SHOULD be a passing team. But that would be a different argument. It is WHO we are. The personell from the OL, to the type or RBs we have, to the TEs, to the QB, to the offensive coordinator (former QB) all point to us being a passing team. Romo made 2 mistakes yesterday on 47 throws. The first one was Romo being Romo. Robinson did not cross the face of the defender on the second one. The ball is thrown before the WR comes out of his break...that is Romo's job...the WRs job is to be there. He wasn't. The last one Romo had Witten wide open for a big play...he showed he was not shook and pulled the trigger, he had pressure up the middle and did not get enough on the ball. But it was NOT a bad read.

With all of the inexperience we have on the OL and at WR, mistakes are going to happen. We really only have ONE WR that Romo knows will be where he is supposed to be...and that WR has not played in 2 weeks. That is a tremendous amount of pressure to put on a QB. But Garrett and company CHOSE to go with young guys on the OL and at WR...and for 90% of the game Romo makes EVERYBODY look good...he makes 2 bad throws out of 47. And no one helped him out. I mean...get the guy on the ground. You let both guys SCORE. Unreal!

RG III is really impressing me at Baylor. He's a little undersized but he has a good arm and a good release. Can make plays out of the pocket as well. Spend maybe a mid 1st round pick or 2nd round pick on him. Let him sit for 2 years behind Romo because sadly i dont see him being replaced before that and maybe we have our new franchise QB. Don't think much of Red as a HC but I think he could do a good job of grooming a young QB...
