An aging QB with who just had surgery on his back and Jones thinks Romo will perform at a championship level.
Get real.
It's amateur hour at Valley Ranch.

This is a fairly deep draft class for QB's ~ draft a QB and transition the team for the future.

Yep, there are no instances of older QBs being injured, making a full recoveries, and playing at a high level again.

Not in 2014 but in 2015 for sure. It will come whether Jerry likes it or not because Romo is getting old and he should now be viewed as a Top-5 Fragile QB in the league. You always have to expect him to get hurt every season

Well with all the restructures when Romo does hang it up we will have a year in extreme cap hell. So all we need is for that year to line up with a good QB class the following year...not unlike the Colts with Luck.

You know, maybe Jerry should have fired his incompetent HC long ago so as to have avoided this situation, instead of sitting here for six years watching Romo run for his life, because the OL can't stop a blitz in Garrett's tenure.

Well we don't need a QB so we shouldn't. This team needs a defense.

God have mercy on this team for the next few years.

8-8 seasons and the 17th overall pick every year until Romo retires

It is time to start taking flyers out on QB's, mid-round or so. Once back injuries happen, one wrong twist or hard hit and the back gets injured again.

There are certainly more important areas of need to focus on but if they start now, they just might find the next QB. I am not saying draft high, but start getting potentials around the 4th round.

As worse mistake would be Jerry waiting until it is too late, there might not be any good QB's in a couple of years, who knows.

Again another person twisting Jerry's words. He didn't say he wasn't drafting a QB high in the draft and even if he did the draft is while away so a lot of things can happen between now and April. Also as we've seen in this league in the last few years you can find just as good or better QBs later in the draft then in the 1st and 2nd round.

Nobody is twisting Jerry's words, the man said it's too early to invest a high draft pick on a qb.

Did the Packers need a QB when they drafted Rodgers? Did the Patriots when they drafted Brady? Or how about the Eagles when they drafted Foles? Seahawks just signed Flynn and they still drafted Wilson that same offseason. Niners had Alex Smith and they still drafted Kaepernick.

Wonder where those teams would be now if they had this mindset?

Fact is, we do need a QB. Romo is leading us nowhere except mediocrity. He's getting old and now has had 2 back surgeries in the span of a year. Not good.

Find his replacement ASAP.

Jerry wasted Romo's good years. He should have hired a competent coach after Parcells left. It's all just been a waste.

I can't stand this man. I understand I am a fan and he is in contact with the team and this sport for many decades.. I respect his place in history.

But the last time we lost our franchise QB, it took this buffoon 5 years and a few 5-11 seasons... while staying .500 overall to find Romo. Kind of crazy to think we have been a .500 team for a decade and this guy thinks he's doing a fabulous job. Please, 5 more years of Garrett. 5 more .500 seasons. Please, show us how signing the likes of Carter, Hutchinson, Bledsoe and the whole host of QB's he signed worked out. The future is just not bright in Dallas. Jerry is just a ******* man. No other way to put it. He has to be an egotistical lunatic to think he is doing a good job. He's even said he'd fire himself if he was in charge of Jerry the GM. Good luck finding that next UDFA Pro Bowler, Jerry. I think the only one opposed to a 1st round draft pick/2nd round draft pick at QB is the very man who signed a 32 year old QB to a $110 million contract.

But that would require someone with power at Valley Ranch having foresight and ability to plan for the future.

Why would he? Saw a report yesterday that Cowboys lead the league in attendance.

So your plan would be to wait until the last possible moment to draft a qb and just pray that there are some good ones coming out that year.....those who forget history are condemned to repeat it.

The only way I'd be sure we have a franchise Q B is if it's in the first round. I have no confidence in Jerry finding one in the later rounds. He lucked out on Romo.
