I can already here it now from the Jones’ “People say we don’t spend in free agency, but we reworked (resigned) Tyron and Zeke’s contracts which is sorta like signing quality free agents.”
I always love the "we signed our own so we have been active in FA" mantra we get from them and the homers.

And for chrissakes, if they restructure Elliott......................... there has never been a more obvious cut of a name player in this team's history. Even if you cut his salary, he's still going to have a large cap hit for a backup TB.

I just can't with these bozos.

Negatory.. you guys are not allowed to have Payne. I've been saying for years the dude is a beast. He came up big in a contract year.

They won’t do that. If they cut them it will be during the Spring so that they can get on with a new team sooner than later. They will give them the dignity. They always pull that crap for once good vet players…….
You forget. They have two designations they can use. They don’t have to actually wait until June anymore.

That is absolutely amazing. And nauseating.
If fans want to know the biggest difference between the Cowboys and Eagles, look at their respective pro personnel departments and their respective cap management.

The Eagles do arguably the best job in the league if scouting and signing pro players. The Cowboys are among the worst.

The Eagles also allow for far greater cap flexibility and manipulation where the Cowboys pay out huge bonuses to drafted players and get locked into their deals.

Well that’s awesome. Now will they do it? Zeke is Jerry’s favorite…

Part of me thinks that the team will do a face-saving deal with Zeke like they did with Demarcus Lawrence.
Yeah if Elliott pulls some sort of sob act about being a Cowboy for life, blah, blah Jerry will eat it right up.

Considering the ROI Jerry got on that contract, Elliott ought to play for free. I wouldn’t want him even in that case…because he flat out can’t run any longer.

At least Lawrence is still a well above average run defender.

In the end what I would guess is going to prevail is the kid’s desire to get out of underperforming contracts at first reasonable opportunity. That’s been their recent history.

When that June 1 rule was modified they should have just gotten rid of it entirely.

It helps neither the players nor the teams.

Real simple…teams can choose to spread dead money hits over one year or two. Why the June 1 game, and why that late of a date?

Save yourself the let down that will happen in free agency again. They will not be making any big trades or big free agent signings. They will continue to meddle around mediocrity. A few good years of competing in the wild card games and then back down to build back to wild card strength again.

Thank goodness Philly kinda isn't great at drafting. If they actually could draft, woo boy. I mean imagine if they had taken Jefferson over Reagor? Then they easily could have moved up and taken Parsons for example the next year.

I am gonna break **** if that happens.

Lawrence at least had some value in doing that. Elliott is basically a dime a dozen TB at this point.

Don't know their other FA's, but my guess is they tag him if they don't come to a deal prior to FA starting.
