Screw the cap. Do what the Rams did and get all the talent that's possible. Get this team stacked. He's not getting any younger and if Dallas is ever going to get another ring then this might be the route to go. It worked for The Rams a few years ago
Yes trade Dak for a real QB. Totally agree!

the problem is there is no really good player with sporty ambitions that will sign with us.

this is not the 90s. people know that we are not a winning team but a entertainment franchise that is looking for revenue only.
those are the players and coaches you will get: over the hill mercenaries who are looking for the spotlight and a chance to sell their brands. or medicore players who know they wont have a chance to win something meaningful anyways.

What the Rams did ruined their franchise and wasn’t worth the ring. They’ll be out of the playoffs for years to come. Same with the Eagles. The Cowboys are achieving the blueprint for how to sustain a higher level of success.

He should of loaded this roster on Dak and Zekes rookie contract. If any other GM had Jerrys record the last 10 years he would have been fired. Hell Jerry should have been fired 20 years ago.
But then we would not have “all the advantages “ this franchise has because of GM Jerry

I get such a kick out of reading the negative complainers and their suggestions. It will be so funny if the Cowboys win out from here or win out in the playoffs.

Actually it was worth the ring lol. Everything is worth the ring. Heck even if they're out of the play off game for the next 10 years it's still a third of what we've been experiencing here.

I mean what the heck? Of it was worth it for them, jeez. Imagine Jerry would have tried. And so what if it hadn't worked? We'd be at the exact same spot but at least we knew he tried.

But we really needed Trey Lance.
The Cowboys, who are reliant on the draft for adding talent, spent next year's 4th and 5th round picks on two players who most likely will not play a down this year.

Stephen has convinced his dad that premium free agents are not worth it when in reality, Stephen has been awful at negotiating contracts where the Cowboys do not have the leverage. That's why he likes the draft picks and overuses the Franchise Tag. The contarct terms are already set by the league.

However there is some hope. Stephen's "we like our guys" nonsense was put on hold last off-season when they made the two baseball trades for Cooks and Gillmore. If they continue this trend of targeting higher-priced players on teams not expecting to contend, they have a chance to improve the roster.

Examples could be:
Derrick Brown, DT Panthers - final year of deal $11.65M cap hit in 2024
Raekwon McMillan LB LB Patriots - final year of deal $1.645M cap hit in 2024
Cody Whitehair G Bears - final year of deal $10.15M cap hit in 2024

Remember, as part of the trade for Cooks, the Texans agreed to pay $6M of his $18M salary.

Others have asked if you are serious, and I will ask the same, lol.

I would love to ruin our franchise (give up draft picks year after year, then come back unexpectedly with a bunch of guys named Dom) to wing a ring after 3 decades of horrendous labour pain. The entire world not a fan of the Rams thought they were selling out their franchise like they did, and all they did is win a ring, and this year, without all those draft picks are one of the hottest teams in the NFL who will likely make the playoffs and be a team nobody wants to play. They established the blueprint, and found themselves an annoying Head Coach who just so happens to be genius with the ability to get more out of a bunch of nobodys than our HC and ownership can with a bunch of somebodys who have no clue how to win the big game.

You are truly not serious about the Iggles either are you? They dumped vets, hoarded draft picks, signed their QB to a ridiculous contract and did all this without mortgaging future draft picks...

Poor OP still thinks that Jerry is trying to win after thirty years of failure doing it his way.
Said before that no way Jerry will change now, he is in too deep. Just imagine hiring a great GM and great HC...and winning a SB within two or three years after....would only confirm what an idiot he has been all these years. At least now, it is only an assumption. He going out with a whimper.

They could win this year. The NFC is wide open. The 49ers look like a mash unit.

What is the higher level success ? Make playoffs and win a game and then lose? No thanks … I want a Super bowl…. even it comes at the expense of some bad years after.

they have time on their side to get the injured healthy, and none of them looks to be serious
Actually, they are forced to keep playing everybody and will get more injuries as they try to secure the 1 spot.
